WTF. I've heard of this before.... what is wrong with people. Wondering if this happens nation wide or just in certain parts of the country

I do have a 4 cyl.. power.... well the 4 cyl is a turd. My v6 first gen was way more powerful and faster too. The 4cyl is kinda a dog with any tire. But it didn't effect power and acceleration noticeably.... ECT really helps the 4 banger in certain situations. I use it . I never used it in my first gen.

I purchased my seat covers directly from Rough Country website. They were $110 shipped....

The verdict is still out on wildpeak ATW3. Since I dont do any real hardcore offroading I stuck with the 116T SL. The E option was around 10 lbs heavier per corner. SL was around 44lbs per tire. Not bad for an aggressive looking AT tire that has good on road mannerisms. I coupled them with some 16" F5s at around 18 lbs per wheel putting each corner at around 62 lbs. This was pretty close to the weight of the steelies and 245s that the truck came equipped with. My mileage with the air dam and the stock wheel/tire combo was right around 24 average..... sometimes higher. With this setup and no air dam I'm getting around 23 in the nice weather and 20 in the cold, so I took a hit, but not too bad. Average is generally 21-22 per tank.

Gas mileage mainly depends on how you drive. I can get 17 if I'm always in a rush, I can get 26 if i drive like a grandpa and coast to stops and downhill.

I've done some mild offroading in the mountains of PA, no tire issues, driven in the rain/sleet/snow --- no issues there either. The tires so far are quiet and smooth. Big bumps and potholes arent jarring, but the truck is new and the suspension is stock, so that plays a big part.

Do your research.. the ATW3 SL tires are known to have some balancing issues. Mine did --- took 2 tries for my local shop to get it right... some folks cant get the SL to balance at all... theres a bunch of nightmare stories.my son bought the same tires..... his mounted and balanced up first go.

In my experience you cant really get a good read on tires until about 30k for a dialy driver. Like I said I don't need E load, I ain't hauling on a regular basis and I'm not a weekend offroad warrior (not usually anyway) -- so the SL tire has good day to day mannerisms. Its quiet, good so far in different conditions (no test in the mud for me so far). HOWEVER... I've had plenty of different AT tires (ko/ko2/geolander/duratrac and some others). They all get loud and handle much crappier in the 30 to 40k range. I rode my duratracks for 80k and they were LOUD and harsh. The KO2 was not quite as bad but similar around 35k.

So --- I cant really say how good they are having only 12k. My test is at 40k and over.... all I can say is so far so good. Aside from the balancing issue I like em. Light, large, quiet, smooth, capable and aggressive looking.

Edit.... $530 for a set of 4 was a good price. I was going to get duratracks cuz they were lighter and I wasn't concerned about all the balancing issues, but price drove me to give these a try

I have just the vent mount on the way.... and will fabricate the actual phone holder or use a Ram mount I have from the motorcycle.... yea they are pricey but seems like it’s the best and only viable option....

    Any 4cyl owners? I have a question.....

Every once in a while I'll get a weird noise in my engine bay. It sort of sounds like the noise a blow off valve on a turbo makes. 2020 4x4

This is my first 4cyl taco, I've had a couple v6 first gens and never heard this sound 600k+ miles. My son has a 2020 by and hasn't experienced this noise.

It has done this since I got it brand new, I have no engine or exhaust mods, so my guess is that it's normal and only on the 4cyl, but I'd like some peace of mind. It's very random, so capturing the sound would be tricky... but on occasion I do hear it while idling....... anyone have an idea what it is?

I guess its normal..... this is pretty much the noise I have at idle. Guess it happens when i start the truck up and let it idle without driving it.... that's why i guess i hear it intermittently.... wonder why my sons 2020 V6 doesn't make this noise.

Mine seems to be louder than this, but similar. My son always says what the hell is that noise. I was saying IDK... I guess its normal --- coming from a 20 year old truck to this... I'm sure theres different noises... then he said "my truck never made a noise like that", so I started thinking oh maybe it could be something that I need to address....

    Anyone ever heard this?

Yep, I hear it at first start up of the day or after the truck has sat parked for quite awhile. It's exactly the sound in that video posted. I've assumed it's normal?

Thanks man. I'm going to pop the hood of both of our trucks tomorrow and see ... I'm kinda wondering how long it takes for that noise..... I really only hear it at idle and I am generally not idling a lot.

Yes, me too--only at idle and always first thing after I start the truck in the morning before I head to work.

I get a moaning sound like that when I shut off the truck, but otherwise no. It's probably a PCV sound like mine. These motors have a lot of crankcase pressure, much more that years ago, and yours may be exhausting that pressure through a valve. It's really the only air process on the truck, except the tires...lol

Met up with a few Tacos yesterday and I'm going to say, my tires and lift kit saved me. My first time actually offroading with this beast and I'm amazed. For the most part, I was on 2WD even on a little bit of steep climbs. It hurts but got some pinstripes on this beast now... several ones.

    Things I learned:
    1. Definitely get your own compressor
    2. Replace the nerf bars with sliders
    3. Get skid plates for full body armor
    For the future:
    1. Get walky talkies or radio
    2. Probably remove air dam
