I've heard nothing but crap from the JBA headers. Doug Thorley seems to be the way to go.

    Oh Yeah!!!
My JBA's are warped at the flange. I will be getting DT's shortly. Do not like the quality of these headers, to include all the ceramic coating is actually burning off.

Hope I have a better experience, like most have with DT's...

I've been considering this same upgrade and I've heard good things about the TRD headers about 10hp or so. Haven't heard much about the other brands but TRD seems to be the way to go far as I know. Once I get the money... then I'll probably get the TRD headers:D

Does TRD make headers for the 09 Tacoma 4.0 engine?

I'm considering buying an 09 tacoma crew cab prerunner and want to put in all leather interior. Is there an aftermarket company that supplies (installs) an all leather interior (seats, door panels) for the 09?

I saw some TRDs on Ebay the other day other wise it looks like you'll be using google or maybe its your lucky day and Graigslist will provide something. Good luck on your search:D

I do not beleive that TRD makes headers for the 09 or new 4.0 V6 engine. I have a 1998 tacoma v6 too and put the TRD headers on that. There was a noticable improvment in performance, gas mileage and sound. I would love to get headers for my new 06 but TRD is not working on anything.

I see some other aftermarket brands like we have talked about here but no one is willing to show any stats from a DYNO test to prove anything. Until someone can get it on the rack I think its all hear-say.

In speaking with my buddy an 11 year vet mecahnic from that use to work at Toyota, he said that he not see any improvment but more issues from folks putting on headers to their 4.0 v6 engines. It has made me concerend and am holding off more until I can see some real proof that it will make a difference. Espcially with the way the exhaust system is deisgned with Dual Cats.

Im wondering, are people seeing or having seal leaks or problems with TRD Headers on the 01-04's?

Hey chris, Do you know if there have been any problems/ leaks with gaskets or what not? And how much the TRD headers cost? thanks!

I have never had a leak when I installed them, but I would use some copper RTV to hold the gasket in place and torque the bolts down in a cross pattern to make sure the header flange mates with the head evenly. When connecting to the pipes, just torque the bolts evenly and make sure to use a new gasket. Cant remember the cost off hand, but they are inline with everyone else.
