Even getting ATs in the same size won't really save a lot in gas you'd have to drop down a size or 2. Just saving on weight by getting a C or D won't be a lot. A lot of C or D load range tires ATs compared to some of the MTs are only a pound or 2 lighter. Won't make a big significant increase in fuel mileage.

 

When I switched to ATs after running MTs I did it primarily for the noise reduction. I would definitely be going the tire swapping route next time and only run MTs when I know I'll be wheeling the next day.

 

Yep and that's a very viable and reasonable reason for the switch.

Going down in size would work you'd just look like you skipped leg day till you wheeled. The biggest advantage is what Eric stated noise and road manners

I found a lost boat this weekend, called the state with the registration number and they said it had been reported stolen. They are going to call the owner and give him my number so hopefully it makes its way home. I had to pull the battery out of the 4th Gen and carry it a half mile though the wood to get it down there since the one on the trolling motor was dead.
