yeah it’s got a lot of overlap, I knew I had a little time before I had to worry about hitting them, but just found a coupon for a harbor freight grinder so I guess I’ll take care of that this weekend

I got mine from shocksurplus.com I am also changing out a lot of the front end components like the lower control arms. Instead of refurbishing the bushings, I am just putting in new OEM lower control arms. I'm also changing the outer tie rods and my cam bolt adjusters, which rust.

I ordered my oem parts from here. I told them what my intention was and they helped me build a cart with all the correct nuts and bolts to replace everything.

    I noticed my bad

for what it’s worth, I read up that 3rd gen will fit 2nd gen. It just gives that extra 6th setting which should be the first ring that was added. I’m not too sure though. I will try to look for the post if you’re interested

Congrats! 6112 is another level. Better in every way over 5100. And I like 5100. Had 6112 on my Taco. Miss that set up.

130k miles and a happy "congrats" to my taco. New 6112 Bilstein's (1st clip), Taco lean spacer, Stainless steel brake lines, OEM LCA, Camber bolts/hardware , Inner/outer tie rod ends, and all of the OEM nuts and bolts to put it all back together again.
I got the work done by my local shop who has been working on the truck for a while

I also ended up needing Inner tie rods, those were pretty bad on the truck. They aren't on here, $136.89 each side from the same parts store. https://toyotaparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com

I picked up the truck today. Holy Hell the difference is AMAZING!!! The front end feels completely different from all of the new hardware. Planted and responsive, no extra movement when pulling into parking lots and going over speedbumps. The shocks still needs to settle some and soften up but the initial stiffness is not terrible at all.

Currently sitting at 1.5" lift with it sitting level front and back. I was expecting at least .75" increase in height from the longer shocks and taco lean spacer. I set the shocks on the 1st clip. Once the shock settle I will remeasure.

    Before suspension install.
1/2 tank of gas from center hub to fender
    FL-19.75"
    RL-21.25"
    FR-20"
    RR-21.5"
    =1.5" rake

    4/23/2021-picked up truck from shop
    FL- 21.5"
    RL- 21.5"
    FR- 21.5"
    RR- 21.5"
Level truck front and rear w/ 1.5" increase in front height.

Changing all of the front components at once instead of a bushing hear and there made a drastic difference in feel. Adding the stainless steel break lines are a change that are worth while if you have old rubber lines already. I've only had the truck for a little while and it is great. The shiny new bolts and white stickers don't look to bad either.

    Some new pics.

I’m not adding any weight up front. Wanting to keep at least 2” up front. going for probably 6/5 with 600lb springs I’ve been totally fine with my 5100’s so I know it will be an upgrade so super stoked.

Alright, finally getting 6112s/5160s installed on Thursday. Going with settings of 3/4. I have had these things in my garage since December. I was going to try and do this with a friend and use it as a learning experience, but time is just not something I have a lot of right now w/ work and my kids. Found a reputable shop to do it for $508 and that includes alignment so pretty reasonable, IMO.

Here is my question..what alignment specs should I ask for? Just running a 265/70/17 currently.

    Bil 6112/5160's etc.
0 Toe, 0 Camber, & as much caster as they can muster out of your UCA's. Preferably 2+ unless you're running aftermarket UCA's then you'd want to target 3+.

Thanks. Stock UCAs for now. That’s what I told him today when I chatted with him. 0 toe, 0 camber, 1-2 on caster depending what they could do. Just making sure I’m on the right page. Thanks.

Install for me Monday. Upgrade from 5100’s. Going with 6/5 with 600 lb springs. No weight planned. What measurements you guys have with this setting? Just curious vs height I’m at now with 5100’s. Thanks again super stoked.
