Go to the Toyota Corporation website and create a Toyota Owners account........

    https://www.toyota.com/owners/

When you enter your vehicle's VIN you will have access to all kinds of information about your truck. You will have all the maintenance records for work performed at a Toyota dealership. You can download different manuals pertinent to your truck and you can see vehicle build information.

    Welcome

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
It’s like watching the birth of another Taco into the World. My heart swells with pride. Good luck! You need to change out the PNW sticker for something along this line. E9800D49-8412-41F2-882E-CA26D5E682EF.jpg

Tacoma’s are very capable off road vehicles. If you are concerned about getting stuck then you can consider getting traction boards or a winch setup. Here’s a picture of my friends Tacoma on top of a plateau in eastern Oregon. We drove up a cattle path through the sagebrush to get to the top.

Those are great suggestions! Getting stuck is always a possibility and something to be aware of. It’s a good idea for me to get a few things that will help in those types of situations.

Congrats on a beautiful truck. I have been out in the snake river area(Big area, lol), beautiful area. Make sure you have a good spare and that you have everything that it takes to replace a tire. Stay safe. Post pics from time to time. Love to see areas that I may want to do on my yearly road trip.

You have a nice truck that some previous owner modified to some extent.

The stickers, roof rack, topper, wheels all jump out. And it looks like it may be lifted.

Quality time with your owners manual will be helpful. If you didn't get one, you can get the PDF version free at the Toyota website as someone already mentioned.

    Welcome.

    Welcome to Tacomaworld! Nice Truck!

The fact that you have a color matched front lower valance, rear bumpers and fender flares makes me think its a Sport. Those, along with the hood could be added on, but, the dead giveaway is the signal mirrors and the parking sensors. SR5s did not come equipped with that for the 2017 model year.

Looks like a dealer / region specific trim. Judging by the specs, probably a sport with dealer mods, like others have stated. Nice truck and welcome!

I do the same kind of ecology fieldwork (except I'm reptiles/plants) in remote places and the Taco is the perfect rig for it.

Welcome and congrats on the truck!

    Welcome to TW! :hattip:
That’s a sweet truck and perfect for what you do. It’s likely the beginning of the end of your car driving days... I’m in my 5th Toyota truck in a row since the mid 80’s :anonymous:

Right now it’s driving along the rim of the canyon and finding access areas to drop in. I’m working on Prairie Falcon research, the Snake River canyon (Specifically the Birds of Prey National Conservation Area) hosts the densest population of nesting Falcons in North America. I’ve been doing nest surveys and trying to locate active cliff nests to target for trapping. I’m deploying gps transmitters on some males in the canyon to study their foraging ecology and evaluate how they are utilizing the various land cover types in the NCA. I have trapping equipment that I need to carry out with me, so the closer I can get to the nest sites the better! But field work is super variable depending on the project; this is what I have going on for my thesis research as part of my graduate degree program at Boise State :) I also work with Barn Owls in Canyon County Idaho, banding them and deploying transmitters, and I’ll be heading to the Grand Canyon next month to help a co-worker with her Mexican Spotted Owl research.
