I just picked up my 2011 Tacoma DC SR5 a few days ago, and I'm wondering if there are any options for the overhead accessory meter (it didn't come with one)? If this is possible, what would it take to get one and install it?

I'd go with a GPS unit (there, you have compass direction AND a whole lot more) and an add-on external thermometer if it's really important.

I have a Scangauge II, and have it set to read intake air temp. Generally that reads four or five degrees warmer than the outside air temp, so I take that into account when I look at the temp.

How does it look? Is it a pretty seamless integration into that accessory panel?

No. A GPS unit will mount wherever you want to mount it (dash/windshield). Mine is on the windshield pretty much in line with the rear view mirror.

The Scangauge II can mount above the mirror on a blendmount, that's fairly seamless. I have mine in the little pocket below and to the right of the steering column, where the E-brake handle is on a 4x4. It's hidden from prying eyes fairly well, but visible to me from my driving position.
