I honestly didnt like anything about the bike except the sound. Too sport touring for its own good. Didnt do anything well imo.

Ah. I liked riding it, but it's probably obvious I prefer sport-touring. I notice yours had removed decals. There weren't paint chips where they used to go by chance were there?

Just wondering if by some strange twist it had been mine. I found out that a pinstripe removal tool is a little too much for motorcycle paint on plastics. The hard way.

Need like the factory bolt size for the skids? Mine on the 4runner were m8x1.25 and length 20-30mm was about right, so I imagine 2nd gen tacoma similar to that

I'm sure I could never find my VIN. I had that bike around 20 years ago. I know I put a slip-on onto the bike. Yoshi maybe. And maybe a Corbin seat? I can't remember. I didn't have it for as long as I kept some of my other bikes. I definitely did not put a different front fork on it. I sold it to a Veterinarian that I believe was local. I just thought yours may have been mine because I typically pull badging and whatever off every vehicle I've owned.

No. It's way easier. Channel number and privacy mode and you're good. No frequencies to screw with.

Anyone here know a good shop to get a rear axle seal replaced in NoVA? First quote I got so far in Arlington was around $700 because they send the axle off to a machine shop since they dont do that themselves.

Rear axle seal is easy peezy but it's all the other BS that goes with it that isn't. Make sure you get new shoes in the drum brakes as well as a new wheel bearing. The gear oil washes away all of the bearing grease which will cause it to fail. That's likely what they're having to outsource.

Honestly, $700 isn't bad. I replaced one axle seal, wheel bearing and associated components, and the brake shoes and it was almost $500 for OEM parts.
