Yours is the one I see the most. I chatted you up in the PCMR lot last year. I like your setup

Is that a weboost on the top? Can you please tell me if you think it is worth it? Thinking about getting one my wife can use in the cab while we are driving to the trail. Will it work up front while driving?

I've got mine setup pretty similar.
    20210115_173237.jpg

What I've seen has been that it usually helps quite a bit when my signal is really weak, like right on the edge or just outside of 4g, but when I already have a pretty decent signal it does very little at all or actually even reduces speeds.
And don't put too much stock in talking "bars", because it's far from the whole story.
I never use mine on the move, so can't tell you much there.

Overall, I'd still get it again, but it's definitely been more like "well, I'll flip it on and run some speed tests to find out if it helps or hurts" vs "no worries at all, flip on the booster and watch all the youtube."

It was nice getting out last weekend! Pretty chilly, but I guess that's just motivation to get the heater installed

What part of the States are you in? Looks pretty, I sometimes miss the eastern woodlands.

This was West Wisconsin, overlooking the Mississippi. The driftless region is absolutely beautiful, we don't make it out there enough

Thanks. I've never been up that way. Will have to take the northern route on my next trip from Colorado to Kentucky, and fill in the mental map a little more.

It doesn't hurt to try the lakeside too! If you're really looking to waste time on the drive the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is another level of gorgeous as well!

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!

Snwbrdr hit it pretty well. There's a small window of beneficial service where the weboost helps. Anything below 4g these days seems useless on phones. If you're 2 bars or more, your phone or Hotspot will be just fine and booster won't help too much. It's the borderline 3g/4g and 1 bar 4g area where the weboost can help get you from useless service to being able to send and receive data.

The projection from the internal antenna is small so using while moving really depends on where you put the antenna. If that's where you plan to use it, have that up front by your phone. I have mine in the camper. I plan to use it at camp, not moving. I put my Hotspot next to the antenna which would help project the signal in theory..

There's some good videos out there talking about the weboost vs hotspots/phones. Hotspots have multiple antennas that help give you better service when available. So added antenna to a Hotspot can sometimes be better and way cheaper. But the weboost can reach a bit further but that signal won't be the highest speeds, but you'll get service increase when it's weak. There's good videos out there that explain it way better than me lol.

Would I get it again? Eh. It's a nice tool to have now. We'll see in the long run how much it gets used.

What day were you there? I was headed there on the 15th but changed plans because of the rain.

Did a bit more research. You can buy an extra interior antenna for $30, and alternate between a cab antenna and camper antenna by merely plugging the appropriate one in.

    Yep, that's true.
And to add to what NYCO said, I actually leave the interior antenna just loose so that I can move it around and have it literally back to back with my phone. The distance makes a significant difference.
