209 TACOS - B/S and shenanigans

Long shot here... I’m wondering if anybody has a seal kit for icons remote reservoir 2.5” coilovers laying around. My shocks have been in the shop for 6 weeks waiting on the seal kit and I’d really like to get it back up. It’s a 7 hour round trip for me that I’d like to avoid going and picking them up and putting them back on my truck leaking. Willing to pay more than you got them for at this point

 

We're talking rear resi, correct?

 

It must be front if there Tacoma shocks they most likely wouldnt be coil over rears unless it’s linked in the rear and no leaf springs .

Shocks and shock parts are a nightmare on wait times right now it’s crazy , I was considering Bilsteins 6112/5160 with icons 3 leaf add a leaf and a ubolt flip kit but every one is out of stock .

 

Have you tried Poly Performance? They are normally pretty good about listing out of stock if they don't have it. (Seems like they have it. Maybe call them, their Customer Service is pretty decent)

It took 22 weeks for my Fox coilovers to arrive.

 

Yikes , yeah I think I’m just going to wait and spend the money on my house . Do my lift next year hopefully this mess will be better .

 

My bad Matt, it’s the front. I almost had a heart attack thinking of my truck being down for 22 weeks. I will call Poly performance when I get a chance, thank you!
I’m currently blocking my neighbors trailer in and although they don’t seem to care, I do.
I still have my stock shocks so I’m thinking I’ll put those back on and I throw my stock spare on it and move my truck out of the way. Problem is I need another small tire and rim. Sounds like I’d have better luck borrowing a spare from someone then finding a seal kit. Anybody have a stock size spare I could borrow on Saturday haha?

We stock the seals individually we could put a couple kits together. Crazy thing, I was in Sonora this last weekend. Call the shop and we can send them to whatever shop you are using.

 

+1 on the eimkeith pck being all you need
+1 on OME 861s. They're tall but handle weight, ride nicely, and handle weight very well
I ran 8 wraps before the 861s and they sagged quick with any sort of weight in the back

And no worries, I went wheeling on Saturday and was running late so I was wondering if anyone else was going/knew the coordinates to where we were headed. Got it all figured out though and got a proper shakedown run in.

 

You sir are awesome! I didn’t know you guys stocked so many different things but will remember for the future as your customer service is top notch.
I just called them and they said they got the tracking # for the seal kits and they should be delivered tomorrow and have my shocks in hand by Wednesday. If for some reason that falls thru I will be contacting you to have them sent directly to me and I’ll rebuild them myself. I didn’t have time 6 weeks ago but I do now. Thank you so much!

So you're saying he should go 861 now and skip the 891s?

 

FYI... Robert is (has been) looking for a front winch bumper... unsuccessfully. Has a limited budget, so looking for used etc.


The bumper he's running now is just the outer shell. All of the supports underneath are gone (due to the wreck that got it a salvage title). The valance is held with bailing wire.

So if anyone sees a 1st Gen Taco/3rd Gen T4R bumper on the Craigs or FB, let me know.





And before you say I should buy him one... I've got plenty of shit to spend it on, on my truck

He's gotten plenty of help on this project so far lol

 

Sounds like it’s time for the next generation to learn how to draw and cut and cut some more , make a few mistakes , learn how to weld and fab things on the cheap .

 

He already welds better than I do... lol

In fact, he welded about 90% of the rear boxed frame, reinforcement plates, relocated lower shock mounts, DOM cross member on mine... and he just burned in my front upper shock mount reinforcement plates this weekend.

We don't gave the time to trial and error a front bumper... and making it from scratch would end up costing more than a new Trail Gear (after mistakes etc).

Rear bumper... we'll probably build that next winter. MUCH easier.
