    2021 Barcelona Red Tacoma 4x4 TRD Off-Road 6MT *SOLD*
My Barcelona Red TRD OR 4x4 6MT will be here the first week of June so I'm wasting no time sketching out my mod list. The first month or so I plan on doing Xpel clear bra on the front bumper, tinting the front windows/windshield, and detailing/ceramic coating. In addition I'll knock out the small OEM accessories - bed mat, mud guards, black out emblems, tail gate extender, and more than likely the Bakflip tonneau cover. The plan is a month or so after that, to order a new set of the 2020/21 Tacoma TRD Pro OEM 16" matte black wheels and put them on with the stock tires and sell the silver/black TRD OR wheels. From my reading and lurking here for a few weeks I hear a lot of talk about the BF Goodrich K02s and later on in the year am thinking about replacing the stock Goodyears with those. I plan to use my truck for road trips with the soon to be wife and our 2 dogs, learning/trying out mild off roading for the first time, and some basic utility stuff around the house. Working from home M-F nowadays I drive my personal vehicle 500-600 miles a month, if that. We have a new Acura sedan that we'll use for around town errands or places in the city where the truck would be cumbersome.

Actual question after my rambling: are the K02s acceptable on road/highway travel tires too? I've never had a truck that had a non-M/S tire on it so I worry about obnoxious howl on the road with a meatier tire.

I run KO2s in 285 and really like them, they are not loud on pavement. Great all round AT tire. The only thing is in your wheel size 16 inch 265s you can’t get C load KO2 tires, you are stuck with E load, which sounds like overkill for your needs. It’s strong but with extra weight.
I’d try to get a tire in the 45lb range in a C load, or SL if you stick to fire roads/pavement.

Good info, thanks! Sounds like I need to stick to a C or even SL rated tire for my purposes, at least initially. Then, once I’ve learned how ill use the truck after a while I can look into a second set of wheels (love the aftermarket Method wheels) I could mount some K02s on just for fun.

I’ve always liked BF stuff, but yeah you might want to check some other tires out.
Toyo ATIII, Falken Wildpeak AT3W in SL. If your looking at buying wheels 17 inch has more choices for C load tires.
