    I would leave it. I know it's kinda a pain in the ass trying to push that 2 piece guide and spring in but personally I think it's going to need that heavy spring in it for quite some time. The tolerances on that particular handgun are so very tight and even though it's out of it's initial break in period, it will be a while before it really loosens up.you shouldn't have to" deep" clean it but about every 1000 rnds. I'm just afraid that as tight as it still is that putting a softer spring in it wont fully seat the slide on its way forward.
    There's a trick to putting that spring/guiderod back in. Do you have the slide on the frame while its going in or are you trying to put it in while there separate?
    oh. And/or are you talking about the tricky thumb part pushing in the barrel plug.
    Safety glasses, seriously. I almost lost an eye.

    And for gods sake, make sure that release pin is always thru the loop in the barrel lug. That could be quite dissasterous.

    You need to have the barrel,guide rod and spring in the slide with about 3 inches of the slide on the frame. That way when your pushing the spring in tight it wont keep trying to jump out. Keep pushing the slide on slowely while your pushing the spring in.

    It usually never stays forward like the manual says. As long as your lug hole is lined up with the hole on the frame where the slide release pin goes thru, your golden.
