Lol I watched the best of team radio last night and his cracked me up. His engineer explaining the crash and he’s like “I know, it was f@*cking 50 meters in front of me!”

Then I watched the 2006 Monaco gran prix highlight where his car overheated and he walked to his yacht

DRS has absolutely killed this sport for me.

Allowing lapped drivers to get their lap back after a red flag was just the rotten cherry on top of the rapidly melting sundae.

I think HAAS will be last. I feel George will finally get a points finish sometime and Latifi won't be finishing last every race because Mazespin is a douche

Newsflash , lapped cars get released under safety cars to join the back of the pack all the time

I don't know if any lapped car that was given back their lap then went on to win a race. So I say give them a chance to be somewhat competitive if giving them a lap back. Never know, they could end up in the points at least

I don't mind the lapped cars getting back into the race, it could make the race even more exciting. Was pretty cool to see HAM go from 9th to 2nd in the matter of 20 laps or so

Hey! You keep your knowledge of rules and reality out of here. This is the Internet you know...

JK, but this is the first I've seen where it's seriously allowed a podium finish from a "just about" guaranteed mid-pack finish. And whether I like them or not, it was still a great run for the team and driver to get that done.

Or have the other teams design a faster car that is competitive.
HAAS should just give up. They are an embarrassment. Oh wait they already have :rofl::rofl:

Yep. It is intended to get the (supposedly) slower cars out of the way of the frontrunners prior to restart. Also note that if a car has been lapped twice -- as some in that race had been at that point -- they are still 1 lap down. Yes it worked out for Sir Lewis Lucky. No it is not a dumb rule.

Why would you want to get backmarkers out of the way for a restart? Isn't managing traffic part of race strategy? Don't teams decide on when to bring cars into the pits based on when they can get them back on track not in traffic?

If Lewis makes an error and ends up in the kitty litter, it should be on him to unlap himself, not a safety car.

Was there a single person who didn't know he was going to finish second? With DRS it was a foregone conclusion. Yawn.

Seems like Hamilton always gets lucky with a safety car or some incident when things don't go right for him. Season is young though... I think we'll see great competition from Redbull (obviously) but also McLaren and maybe even Ferrari. I'm also looking forward to how Tsunoda progresses throughout the season... he seems like he's got a good head on his shoulders and knows how to race.

Lewis has had some good luck of late. He also had pretty rotten luck in other years. And he frequently makes his own luck, IMO. The prime example in my mind was the year at Monaco when RB screwed up Ricciardo's final pit stop and HAM went on to win. In order to be in a position to take advantage of that screwup, Lewis had earlier overcome his own team's mistakes, plus he stayed out on full wet tires on a dry track seemingly forever, putting down decent times with tires that were not only technically wrong for the conditions but also long past their due date. The result was that he was where he needed to be when opportunity struck.
