I didn't see a thread for this yet so I figured I'd start one. Anyone see the movie yet or read the books?

I loved the books, but wasn't crazy about the movie. I took my 13 yr old niece last night with 14 of her 13 yr old friends. They were actually pretty calm in the theatre. No screaming and yelling. If you never read the books, you'll probably like the movie (well, the gals on here will...and maybe some of the guys). I felt like the moving was moving in fast-forward motion. They're already filming the next movie in the series but I think I'll wait and watch it at home.

My daughter has been buggin me to take her to see it, and last night my GF chimed in. Is it male-tolerable anyways, or should I plan on sitting on the tailgate out in the theater parking lot for a hour and a half?

It's obviously geared more towards girls, but I've heard reviews from guys that said "it wasn't that bad". It also depends on the guy.

I know guys that actually like chick-flicks and others that don't want anything to do with them.

I would not say this is a chick-flick by any means. It has a little something for guys so you might like it.

Besides, I heard some guy on the radio say he went along with his gf cuz she wanted to see it and that night he had the best sex of his life. :D

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
i had to go see it thursday night/friday morning at 0002. its an ok movie...crappy filming and crappy "special effects". apparently there's a lot that u'll miss out on if u've never read the books, b/c there would be parts where the entire theater laughed and i sat there w/ my thumb in my ass b/c i didnt know what was going on and nothing was amusing in the least

I had never even heard of it until last week's episode of South Park. Going by what those guys thought of the whole thing I think I'll wait for the rental.
