I used to travel a lot for work. At the time the car I had was push-button start and proximity key. All those rental cars used to make me look like an idiot when I'd travel. I'd either walk up to the door and pull the handle and nothing would happen. Or actually remember to hit the fob button and put the keys back in my pocket. Now I'm on my third vehicle with the options, so I'm officially ruined.

I haven't had a car with a FOB and still prefer a key. My wife's car is keyless and sometimes I leave the FOB in the car. I'm not very trainable in my old age. :anonymous:

On the other hand, my motorcycle has a FOB and that I love. But there's no center console to leave the FOB in, so it's somewhat idiot proof.

Do you secretly wear women's pants that don't have pockets? My key fob just stays in my pocket if I'm going somewhere.

    A thing or two...
The proximity unlock and push button start is nice on the rentals, amd I could live with it on a personal vehicle. It's all the other safety/pseudo autodriving features that I hate and turn off.

You've NEVER had a car with a fob?? I mean, we're close in age, but I have to go back three or four cars before I can say I didn't have one.

And put the fob in the pocket. Make it a habit. Trust me. Because nothing is worse than getting to work and realizing your fob is sitting on your shoe bench in your garage.

Nice. I will say that cooled seats aren't always the solution though. I've had several rental cars with them and the cooling/ventilation actually caused swamp ass. I know that is counterintuitive to what is supposed to happen, but...maybe they just hadn't gotten it right in those cars? Good to know they work in the Highlander!

That proximity key is no joke...love it! I am so trained to use it at this point that I just installed the passenger side version on my Taco. It was annoying me that I couldn't use it on that side of the truck. First world problems...

So far they're pretty great but we'll see how well it works in the dead of summer. I'm really loving this car so far so it should definitely be on your short list to look at when you get back stateside.

It is on the list for sure! Also, what setting did you use for the ICON RXT? I know each truck is different, but I am thinking option 2 for my truck. Might pull the trigger on them soon since shipping to the local 4WP is fairly cheap.

I’m still on option 1 and I love it. I have 1.5” of lift with about 300 lbs in the bed. I should probably switch to option 2 but don’t really feel the need.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
My wife has an MKC. It's a nice enough car, but not something I would pick. There are only two things in her car that I would want; the cooled seats and the heated steering wheel, which is awesome when it's cold out!

How often do y’all grease your UCA’s? I know when I worked with equipment we’d grease the joints every day until grease came spilling but feel like that is overkill for the truck.

If you do it with every oil change, you should be just fine.
