One of the big Bassmaster tournaments here in Texas got his night before last. 15 cats taken from trucks in the hotel parking lots the night before the tournament.

Apparently it’s the new thing to boost. No vin number, only a minute or two to take (from a couple doorbell videos I’ve seen), and has a little palladium, platinum, and Rhodium.

If the thefts in my area keep up, I may use it as an excuse to get a full skid plate.

Damn, that had to take around 30 minutes and make a hell of a noise. Did no one pay attention?

For those who in a bubble thinking they are in a "safe" neighborhood (no such damn thing, precious), that it is crackheads(they not that diligent, inexperienced one), or they are super vigilant and will hear or see all(yeah, I hear you snoring from outside your driveway), and that others are doing it wrong (always, here at TW):

Which skids are those? Would you mind taking another picture from the side closer to the cat? :fingerscrossed:

I’m going to end up getting all three skids fairly soon, but now I’m curious if some skids cover the cats better than others?

Those bamf skids are high on my list for being 1/4” steel, just wish they had an oil drain port like the rci lol

They're nice, the tcase skid covers the cat, but there's an opening next to it, I'm not sure you could get in there with a cut off tool, doesn't look like it.

The BAMF have the drain hole, but it's small, it would be best to drop the skid. There's no hole for the oil filter, so you would have to drop it, anyway. It's heavy, best to use a floor jack and lower it down and out of the way.

Is this the one that would protect the catalytic converter?

You could check out RCI, CBI and Mobtown and most others are 3/8" which would be lighter, but not sure on the coverage.

We had a cat cut out of our carpet cleaning van this weekend. I wish I'd been nearby with a baseball bat!

I work for the City of Houston and we painted the one's we replaced from being previously stolen bright pink. Second cat gone, now. No deterrent whatsoever.
