My Tacoma with the 4.0 is not revving over 3000 rpm it is like it has a limiter

I would get codes read again, some will cause the truck to go into limp mode.

Agreed, limp mode. Nice of Toyota to give us 3k. I’ve seen way lower. So you can limp home instead of limp to the side of the road.

    Limp mode. Read the codes.

Anyone with enough $ for all those mods should be able to have an on board monitor like SCII or Torque or such anyway.

You're in limp mode. What codes are stored?

I thought only a flashing CEL (indicating a misfire) will cause limp mode? I could be wrong.

I second the clogged cats idea. If the CEL was for the cats, and they're clogged, it will greatly reduce performance/power.

After driving it for awhile, look underneath at the cats to see if they're glowing red hot. Clogged cats heat up quick

4.0 not reving usually means fuel pump. It could be a bunch of things but thats my experience.

Limp mode in 2nd gens is usually the 2012's due to the SAI.
