I know of the white van.....and I know of free candy being offered from a van. Not speakers though.

Litterally happened to me ~8 years ago. Working outside and some dudes pull up in a white dodge caravan trying to sell a "high end speaker set" and would sell them for "whatever cash I had on me" lol

the story was that they had got too many in a shipment and if he took them back to the warehouse his boss would fire him, so he had to try and dump them off.

Told them to just leave it on the ground and I'll take it home when I was done and they left

I get that with tools in the Home Depot parking lot every now and then.
Last week had a guy pull up by the driveway asking if wanted to buy a Honda generator.

They've gone mobile in the 6ix. A few years ago, I was grinding thru traffic on Wilson Ave. Some arab dude in a white Range Rover happened to drive next to me and asked if I wanted a big screen TV.

 

I've been looking since the lock fiasco happened....dry in this town...so far.
