Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Thank you OVtune(op). The history of what happened over the last couple of years was insightful. Could you please comment of the following.

Some time ago I download VFtuner ver. 1.2.7.8. I don't know if this is the Lite ver. or the full up ver. Either way, it says:

VF Ecu calibration Suite
License information broken or does not exist

after clicking ok..

It shows it needs a masterkey..email, password and username.

I assume that I will need to download the Lite software or register the software that I have using another key that I can get from the ZenDesk?

Way back in 2018 I provided some kind of key to OVtune after installing the flash kit. Soon after Ovtune provided the appropriate Key via email to me. Is the info from that original email used to make VFtuner work? Or do I need to reestablish another account with OVtune/VFtune and start over?

Upon looking at the VFTune site, I didn't see anything regarding the Lite ver. nor how to register/ reregister to become a VFtune user.

I am sorry about asking these things on this forum. Everyone seems helpful.

When emailing zendesk in the past, I have received an immediate auto-response with a ticket number. I sent my info to update to the limited VFtuner license on Sunday, but didn't get a ticket number; does this sound right?

I'm happy to patiently wait for the master key, but I want to make sure my zendesk email didn't get lost in the ether... My System ID changed, so I've been locked out of P5F for months.

 

I sometimes don't get that automatic reply. My assumption is that the ticket is there though but cannot say that for certain.

That said, the way to be sure is to just reply to your Order Confirmation message.


Note that there are no more REG files. If your on the vF software with a License, then you only need a Master Key with the latest vF Version. If you want to stay on Flash Manager, the free replacement for it is getting prepped for release.

Thanks Tonered, it looks like my post got Mat's attention, so we'll see. I started looking into getting a new REG file at about the same time that the new flash tool was teased, so I figured I'd just wait for the new tool / new license structure to be finalized.

Map switching would be awesome - especially for those of us that tow every so often but don't want tow mode all the time...

I’m in the same boat.
I started last month because I could not flash with Flash Manager due to System ID change back in January.



I did get a reply on Thursday after a month wait. So I sent my VIN and original Order Number in but haven’t heard back yet. I imagine there’s quite a few needing to be upgraded in addition to current new orders as well.

Just patiently waiting now. I’d love to ditch the old .reg key method and swap to a simple master key that’s more easily transferred between machines.

test files aren't sent to everyone right now (pretty much how we have always done this).


Flash kit upgrade, there are more than 1000 people upgrading, so it may take time to get to your inquiry.

Does that mean that you are starting to send out Flash Manager replacement programs? Production Release?

 

im curious too, as my 2.0 files are .p5f, i never got them in .vft format

 

Well to be clear, the people getting the new flash kit system won't get edit-able files in vF Tuner or even the ability to edit.
If you want that you need the $79 upgrade

 

Does anyone know how the map switching will work ? I read that 4lo is a switch (map) , does this mean that 1 of the 3 maps is only for 4wd while in 4low ? I am guessing the other 2 maps will be D and then ECT ?
