That’s exactly what I’m doing, but if my mechanic doesn’t find anything suspicious this Friday I’m not bringing the truck to the dealer until AFTER the Carlisle Truck Nationals...

 

Frame looks fine. Move along

 

This is the spot on mine. Look where the piece of the exhaust hanger attaches to the frame..that bottom piece is loose and a 10mm socket fits in that hole. The outside of that rail is where the big hole is.

When is the Carlisle event?

 

August 6th through the 8th of this year..

 

For a nearly 12-year old truck with over 130K miles on it that’s spent it’s entire life in Southeast Pennsylvania, I’d say it looks pretty damn good!

However, I am entitled to a free inspection and a loaner vehicle before the warranty runs out on September 30th, 2021; At that point it will have been nearly four years since the frame was coated, and a lot can happen, so I am going to take full advantage of this!

Also, if my frame ends up being fine when it gets inspected in September, I’m going to go the fluid film route; My mechanic will likely end up helping me apply it...

 

Yup, you'd be silly not to especially since it's free. I'd get it in early Sept..my original plan for mine before today's little bonanza

 

Im worried that the backup camera wire may have gotten stuck to the frame as a result of the treatment; I the dealer required to fix anything they break, including aftermarket backup camera wiring?

 

So far as I have heard yes, though I've not heard the camera being an issue in that case. If mine is getting a frame, I figure I'll have new shocks done while it's apart anwyay.

 

I’ll go that route if the frame has to be replaced; Rear leaf springs too...

 

Good luck getting a loaner if they are just putting your truck in the air to inspect the frame

 

They give you a loaner for oil changes at the dealer near me...

 

They must have a couple of cars Toyota gave them. Forgot what they call them. Our dealers had a few corollas. But not every Toyota store gets them. Usually high volume, and or president awards stores and stuff.
