Last go around was Mortgage debt... this go around could be corporate debt...it takes one domino to fall if it's all linked to paper money/value/assests that all of a sudden isn't there.

That being said, banks are generally better capitalized then in 08, most folks are saving money, the number of mortgages in forbearance keeps declining (although that last report said at a slower pace than previous months), so maybe it'll be a slight hiccup and not a full blown collapse.

FED seems eager to help as well.

 

We had a full blown collapse for COVID. The next regularly scheduled collapse will be in 10 years, 2000, 2009, 2020... clockwork.

Politely disagree. The Wuhan put a small hitch in the giddy'up, but it had no effect on the underlying principles. What we're about to go through was coming whether there was a pandemic or not.

Boxes can be checked for any number of extraneous circumstances. The underlying reality doesn't really change though.

 

As long as it comes after NVDA releases earnings on May 26 I'll be OK with it. NVDA raised it's own guidance last week for Q1. Who does that? A winner that's who. lol

 

Smart financial folks were talking about zombie companies before the covid... with rates low and lower plus PPP loans... these companies are still around.
With the potential for rising rates and mr market moving away from growth/high risk, might be the trigger for the first domino....
But that could be 2022...

so NVDA May 28th 650 calls are ~1.6k at today's close...
you telling me it's worth it? (see my prev post...market seems to like NVDA (outside of Euro investigation)...so in light of everything selling off...i'm pretty bullish on it...if investigation goes away, that's an instant pop)
i might wait a little longer to see if price continues to fall and take advantage of time decay
