The only depression I'll have is the one the Mrs will give me in my cranium for drinking too much.

After the Young and Dumb years.
    I split L5 in 1990.
    Rheumatoid Arthuritus is fun.
Scoliosis too. My back pops more than a popcorn machine. Knees, ankles, elbows.
Bad left hip, right shoulder. Shit's past starting to fall apart.
My back is so messed up, I crap crooked.
To top it off, stage 2+ CRPS, and I've had the Shingles on my right chest/right back/right arm (after hernia surgery, twice in 4 days) for 16 months and counting.

My "what doesn't hurt" List is shorter!!

I'm almost 49... I've decided random joint pain has just become a part of life. It usually lasts only a few minutes or couple of hours, but my right elbow pain lasted for 2 years... both knees hurt periodically, as do my hips.

Right now, I think I have a disc problem in my neck... it has been giving me problems for a few weeks.

Back in September, I pretty much cut the end off my left thumb... it has mostly healed, but I have no feeling in the tip.

The week before Christmas, I suddenly lost 85% of the hearing in my left ear... I was standing in my bedroom talking to my wife about Christmas plans when my ear just went dead... $3000+ in doctor bills later, I still have no idea why, I just know it's permanent.

Getting old is not for the faint-hearted... but I try not to get down about it... I lost my sister to cancer 11 years ago... she was only 39...

It's the only 2 options we have... get old, or die young... I'd rather get old.

A friend of mine told me one time that one of his greatest pleasures in life is outliving people that he doesn't like...

The Mrs is a trooper. She has RA and we found out last year she has MS. There's only so many things that treat both and the one she is on is risky. Good times. Oh and she's hearing deficient too. $8k in each ear and still can't hear a fuckin' thing!

    To sit is to die.

Im 43, also own a private personal training gym. If you have a desk job, you need to move and stretch a few times a day. Regular exercise and all that helps as well.

But! Once i hit "the 40," random shit w9uld still big me from time to time. I cjalked it up to the abuse my body took ass younger man.

Done this twice now. Same thumb. It took about two years for the feeling to come back the first time. The other time was 3ish weeks ago.

It's all good. She's doing an infusion for the MS now. The side effect is that it treats RA in 12% of people. It seems to be working. It's just been a year and a half struggle to find the right solution. So far so good.

    Wow......Guys, I feel for you.

I'm a couple decades past 40. Fortunately, no health issues. No meds for anything. Pain only comes from muscle sore or cuts. BP is borderline high, but steady and I'm a bit heavy.

I attribute my good situation to my mini-schnauzer. We walk 3-4X each day, even endure -35F windchill. Typical walk is 30-45 minutes.

I'm active working on DIY projects, landscaping, wrenching on the Tacoma maintenance and an antique motorcycle.

Today, my left deltoid is a bit stiff, but I got the first Covid shot yesterday.

Guys, take care. Keep active, try not to overdo. If it hurts, then stop. Pain is the body's way of saying, "HEY! STUPID, DON'T DO THAT!"

I never thought of myself as accident prone, but four broken metatarsals, a right knee that feels like there’s gravel in it, a broken coccyx, three broken transverse process, and a broken hip has me starting to wonder.

At 55 there’s also a butt load of wrong turns and stupid decisions to deal with, but overall I can’t complain.
