You guys are a riot! He comes on here and states what he claims to be a fact straight from Toyota, and then wants me to have to prove it for him. HAHAHA! Hint: if you come on here and make claims like this, be prepared to back it up. Otherwise, anybody could come on a state anything they want as fact, then call you "lazy" if you don't go out and prove it for them. Seriously? And you backing him up (also with no evidence or proof) just makes you look less than credible too. I had different words, but I've promised myself to be nice on Wednesdays.

Turns out it was most likely a rock that was kicked up from another vehicle and just hit me at the perfect angle and speed, rear driver side window popped, spider webbed and proceeded to fall apart into my back seat. It shocked me pretty good and my first instinct was that someone may have shot something at me. I spoke with a DPS officer and he assured me it most likely was a rock and that it happens a lot, even to their patrol vehicles. I was just very unlucky, or lucky depending on perspective, could have been my driver window with a different outcome. Either way, insurance covered it and i got it replaced. Maybe i'll start driving with a full face helmet from now on haha

Guys (and Gals if applicable) can we just chill and talk about the problems of the taco instead of insulting each other? Please?

Honestly not a fan of the head unit. Seems outdated for a 21 model and the bluetooth phone connection with autoplay is annoying. Anyone know how to stop the Bluetooth from automatically starting the last played audio on my phone?

It's finely been figured out by the Toyota factory gods from California that flew in Monday spent over 40 hours diagnosing & damn near had a new engine on the way thinking sticky valve guide or a variable camshaft issue but here's the funny part they were told by corporate not to tear the engine apart they wanted it sent complete back to Japan for forensic diagnosis by the engineers where ever that is.

Here's were it gets good while they were putting everything back together & pulling off more electrical leads & shit hanging of any vehicle I've ever seen. One of the white coats sees something 'funny' on the back of the 2 piece plastic intake manifold while installing the hood they stop put the hood down & start the engine grab a propane torch turn on the gas but not light it then place it on the 'funny' spot BEHOLD the idle goes up while the rough idle disappears

BAD FUCKING PLASTIC 2 PIECE INTAKE MANIFOLD LEAKING AIR AFTER THE MAP SENSOR......just like that POS water crossover on the back of the heads!

Parts are being overnighted as we speak

No it honestly wasn't sucking much at all the seam where the two pieces glue together was missing a small (4mm) of glue allowing a very small amount to leak into the intake only noticeable to the MAP sensor @ idle but still within its design parameters & not causing any codes or engine lights when driving it never noticed the leak. So when the engine was cold & warming up the cold enrichment fattened up the air fuel mixture.....you never noticed it when it achieved operating temp & the ambient air was below 40° it was still adding more fuel due to the cold air when time air temp got over 40° it leaned down causing the rough idle, when it got over 80° (3 weeks ago in vegas) it leaned down more & REALLY idled rough borderline stalling @ stops in gear.

The moral of the story.............DON'T LET ACCOUNTANTS BUILD PLASTIC INGINE PARTS!!! IE: cooling system parts, intakes, throttle body's, valve covers, timing chain covers, idler pulleys, you get the idea.

As far as dirt getting inside my motor nope the inside of the intake was clean as hell, matter of fact I've seen more dust get through a K&N filter than mine had in it besides they gave me a 100,000 mile engine warrantee like I'm worried about it, besides after they did a leakdown test I knew these white coats were in for a real treat figuring out this one.

One more thing I was not allowed in the shop much at all the two times I was thier & the first time I pulled the phone out of my pocket to take pictures they freaked the fuck out!! I found out later that supposedly it was for thier protection (Toyota) whatever thats supposed to mean?

Thier you have it Toyota claims they spent over 40 hours flagged technition time & $3000,00.00 throwing parts at it for 3 years before the 'white coats' came to town & they spent 3 SOLID days on it

Serves them right building shit outta plastic

30k hard miles on my 19 2.7. Only issues have been it spits and sputters every single time it sits and I go to take off in the morning. Goes away in about 1/2-1 mile of driving. Pretty sure it’s the fuel pump. Front drivers side brake is now making a clunking sound when applied. Not entirely sure why, I took the tire off and the pad still has plenty of life left albeit the fluid level has dropped some. Great truck other than the worthless cruise control.

Only issue I have with my trans is on cruise control while towing. It switches between 3-4 500 times and I can’t bear it

Only actual issue I have had was a whining from the rear end. Toyota replaced it at about 13K miles
