Does everyone have a front license plate on their truck? is it the law. I didn't need one on my 02 corvette here in Nevada.

Each state is different, Florida only needs one on back, Kentucky is/used to be 2 and the plates stayed with the car not the person. Florida they stay with the person.

When I bought my Mercedes they hadn't drilled the bumper so I never mounted one. In Los Angeles though if you're parked on the street or airport, they'll cite you immediately. I got two tickets and boycott the town. Don't have one on the truck either. Not sure what I'll do if push comes to shove.

Some States don't require one. Most do, like mine, Washington.
I didn't want that ugly plate on my Porsche Boxster, so I had one made in the style of the UK plates of the 60's. I'm going to do the same with the Tacoma. I can argue 'substantial compliance' since no tab is needed on the front plate; I'll have the same number; the letters and digits will be larger.

One of my annoyances with my truck is that the dealer decided where the front plate holes should be drilled. So I'm stuck with the upper bumper. The UK shaped plate is just the right width to not block the grill.

What's worse the 2 holes or the plate scratching the paint. This irritates me

Nevada only issues me a single plate- so, I made a plate for the front..;-)
If Texas requires two, I'll put this in the back window.

And yes, it's a snow day.

If you have a bullbar or full off-road bumper, you can mount the plate with Quick Fist clamps:

Ed Zachery! Not only do they put two large holes, but then they mount the plate in a location where the bottom of the plate scrapes the paint on the lower cross piece. Brilliant.

They do that to all of them. Washington is a requirement for both plates but I specifically asked them not to do it to my truck, unfortunatly it was done before I went to purchase my truck. It pisses me off that there is no plate holder up front so they jsut drill right into the bumper. I just unscrewed it and left the holes. I play stupid about no plate on the front of my truck when I get pulled over (yes its happened a couple times). I left the holes showing so it jsut looks like it fell off because its just held in by the crap plastic.

i never get why people would rather the plate on the dashboard instead of bumper???? is it worth getting pulled over for no front plate when your drinking and driving,300 lbs of coke in the car,or a dead hooker in the trunk?????

I live on the far North-Easter part of NV and law enforcement can pull you over if you dont have a front license plate. I have mine on cause I honestly dont think it looks bad with plate. That and the fact that I have PFF plates.

"In the United States, 19 states – Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia – do not require an official front license plate, nor do the U.S. Virgin Islands or the territories of Guam and Puerto Rico. In Nevada, front plates are optional if the vehicle was not designed for a front plate and the manufacturer did not provide an add-on bracket or other means of displaying the front plate."

There's a thread here somewhere that has links to how people have filled them. I remember one link was to some sort of plug that fills them. I didn't pay that much attention since it's a non-issue here in CA where both are required.

EDIT: Alan found it below before I had a chance to post it! Anyway, page 2 of Alan's link has options and more links for more options on covering the holes up.
