I am planning on lifting the truck in the next couple of weeks on Billy 5100 all around fronts at 2.5 and toytec 2" AAL for the rears. I have been reading numerous thread about vibes and noises that started right after they lifted their trucks. These vibes have been linked to the front diff for those with 4x4.

I have a 06 double cab which is 4x2, and I was wondering if any one else with a 4x2 and a lift has experienced any issues/problems. If i lift the truck i don't want it to become a nuisance or annoyance driving everyday on the highway! Thanks in advance!

I got small vib after finishing the rear lift. It's just a driveline vib. It only vibes form 15-25 mph and only under acceleration. It just requires me to shim the carrier bearing down a little. So not bad.

The only thing you need to worry about on the front is getting the alignment in spec. On the rear, with the 2" aal, you should probably install degree shims under the leaf pack and the carrier bearing drop to avoid take-off vibes.

Mine are at 2.5 with the rear spring tsb. No vibes but I do feel every bump and crack in the road. I'm debating an AAL because the rear sites slightly lower but it is barley noticeable. Overall I'm very happy with everything and not having any problems.

Thanks for the advice. Any recommendations on brand or where to buy? I might as well take care of it all at once.

You can contact Toytec if you have any questions about the AAL, shims, and carrier bearing drop, they are very helpful. I ordered my 1.5" aal with a carrier bearing drop kit from them. I had a vibe from 1-10 mph after the aal install and the cb drop cured it.

I think Downsouth Motorsports has a great price for the 5100's.

I just ordered all my parts for my 2006 DC prerunner from toytec:

    -AAL 2" rear lift
    -Driver 1/4" spacer
    -CB drop
    -Shims
    -U-bolts

Is it true I needed to order the U-bolts for the shims?

Thanks, may wanna consider UCAs to get caster back when going over 2" on lift. It won't wear the tires but the annoying wandering in grooves will piss you off quick. That twitchy handling feel sucks. LR UCAs give plenty of camber and caster adjustment for the alignment to be right.

wheelers might have them in stock. i think they also have a TW discount.

EDIT: just checked, they dont offer a discount since they dont charge sales tax, still a good deal.

    Hey OP

I have Bilsteins 5100s all around, set at 2.5 in front, and ToyTec 2" in the rear... same as what you mentioned above.

I love my setup. I don't have any vibes or shakes. Going over speed bumps at slower speed (as you should) front is beautiful, and rear is definitely stiffer, but that is expected.

You do need longer U Bolts made up for the rear with the AAL.

If you have any more questions, just let me know
(if i don't repost, PM me)

Thanks so much! Seems like everyone with the Billys + Toytec aren't having many problems with vibes/shakes except for a few. I am hoping if my truck is one of the problem childs, the shims/cb drop will do the trick..

    Cant wait lol :yay:
