Speaking of unwanted warning lights, I did the first 5 tire rotation on my truck the other day and was expecting the TPMS light to be on, but that didn’t happen. It confused me until it dawned on me that the system is wireless thus the tire doesn’t need to be installed on the truck to make the system work. :)

2018 OR double cab with crawl control. First time at a campsite. Uphill with camper. Second in my own driveway. Stopped at the bottom then moves closer to the garage.

Started happening to me - 3 times this week
    2021 DCLB OR 4x4

on pavement in 2 wd mode . Incline has to be very steep for it to happen

on very uphill at a signal light

minute I let off brake to accelerate - truck is moving back - traction control yellow light furiously flashing

grinding noise from steering wheel - sounds like clock spring on old cars

I have a steep driveway and it makes that sound every once in a while if I park in the driveway then pull it into the garage. It was nerve racking in a "What the Hell?" way when I heard it the first time.

2021 OR with crawl control. Happens to me anytime I’m stopped at a light on an incline and my truck gets the chance to roll back a few inches before I can hit the gas. Last few trucks I’ve owned/driven has had a normal hill assist that holds the brakes until it senses the acceleration being pressed.

Terrifying grinding noise lol. Glad to see it’s normal... I think?

    Yeah normal, but terrifyingly grinding.

I notice it depends on the size of the hill. i am in a very hilly area, and 7 of my hill stops, no problem. other, 3 HOLY MOLY grind city!!

We have 2 Tacos, '18 and '20 and both do this on inclines. I hate to use the word "normal" for something that can seem so abnormal but I would say it is typical for 3rd Gen Tacoma.

Happens pulling my boat out of the lake at the ramp. I don't like the noise either so I just 2 foot it until I get rolling. Not an issue really but it surprised me the first time.

    Light upgrades and automatic tailgate.
I live in a hilly area and this happens to me as well. I'm a bit slow on the gas usually as well and I get the traction control light spazzing out alongside with the noise.
