Big bear snow run 1/3/11

anybody want to caravan up their. I live off the 210 and 605. I will meet some one closer to big bear if you want.

 

Couple of us will meet in riverside. ill post the locattion on thursday.

Which way do you normally go to big bear? I would say meet me at the the irwindale speed way and will go from their.

Bring ur chains those will help alot. U n rakso would be in the back. Hopefully by then we compated all the snow.

 

I would like to join and get offroad snow experience while meeting other locals. I need to know where and what time to meet. I am near 60 and 57. Thanks.

 

i know this a stupid ??? do we need chains ???/ i was up their last year did not need chains.

 

I was up there this weekend... It was beautiful! Unfortunately the roads were a bit messed up coming back home yesterday. Some idiots crashed on the 38 so that was closed everyone was directed to the 18 towards victorville and I guess no one put salt on the roads and some idiots figured they could make it without tire chains... messed that one too. While I was locked up in traffic a red 1st gen Tacoma rubbed up on my bumper going on the wrong side of the road and kept going... Little bitch put a good rub on my bumper and got away. But I am sure the roads will be good by next weekend...

OP i think it would be better to meet at the exit of the 138 for us LA county and OC folks.

p.s. will M/T's handle ok in snow?

 

mt do ok in snow but not so good on hard packed roads due to lack of siping.

as long as it doesnt snow you wont need chains on the roads but if you are 4x4 you will neeeeeddd chains on the trails, and even then expect to be yanked a few times... after the last storm the trails are beat down pretty good. i plan on going up tomorrow and will take pictures and update conditions...
