i saw your other post re: reddit...
here's the bloomberg report that started it all:

my first post was literally as it happened...so no news...now it's everywhere.

It's ok man, nobody is breaking the rules. A change to the capital gains tax structure is definitely something worthy of discussion in an investment thread. As long as nobody starts naming names, we good. But the process and the implications should certainly be discussed.

 

Perpetual squeeze. Squeeze kicks off tomorrow and then they hold the price at $10m a share until it makes it through the process.

Here's where I care about though:


Get XOM up. I have a contingent stop loss set for 0.50 @ 70.50, so minimum I'm grabbing 70$/share. I can hope. I am thinking this summer it will pick up, if we're hovering in the high 60s I'd bail out then, or maybe 75% of my shares or something then.

 

i think that gov't actions/releases should be fair game as long as it's factual...i.e. current administrations wants to do X which will result in Y.
as long as we don't devolve into name calling, or one party is better than another...
but that could also be thin ice...

but in reality what the federal govt is doing has an impact on economy/commerce/etc. so totally relevant to stonks...er... stocks..

dully noted...like i said...thin ice...and we'd all have to be pretty diligent about the way we discuss it.

 

If it helps assuage your concerns, myself and a couple other guys here have a conversation thread open with a few of the mods. If things get out of line, we let them know, and they clean it up. Most of that just goes on behind the scenes, and they've been very good about keeping everything on track.

 

One would think, but they ban for talking about how different administrations have different affects on the stock market.
