Dude I don't give a shit, You do you. I'm avoiding this thread at this point because everything here has been said 1000 times in all the other EV threads. No need to beat a dead horse. :deadhorse:

Can you charge an EV with USB-C? Cause that would save a lot of time and effort.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
You mean that $75,000 absolutely out of reach for any normal human truck? Looks OK, but that is WAY more than normal people can afford. The $35,000 on a Tacoma is pushing high limits. Electric cars that perform and look nice are toys for the rich, who also happen to be the elite politicians telling us mere peasants what to do with our lives.

Crazy how easily people can be fooled by headlines. The article says electrified by 2025. Meaning hybrid options will be available in every Toyota model, which isn't really that much of a stretch. It says nothing about when an EV Tundra/Tacoma will be on sale.

Here's the thing, when ICE came out people were saying negative things about them and the technology was sub par. We've made incredible strides since then. The same will happen with EV cars.

Hell, they said people wouldn't be able to breath when going fast in cars when they first came out.......

    This and that...
Linked in the article is the Hybrid Tundra with a turbo V6 for 2022, production starts this Fall. Pretty interested in this but will definitely be pricy.

There's no way our power grid can handle the charging in it's present form. How do we charge these new electrics? With coal, yeah, brand new tech. Electric or any other form of power is needed as petroleum is finite, we're running out already, but there's no way we can charge the entire worlds electric vehicles without something like fusion power to cope with the needs, then the entire power delivery system needs to be overhauled.....

Mandate all new houses have solar panels.

Out here more and more parking lots are putting up solar panels above them. It's great because there is now shade when you park your car and they are putting electricity back on the grid.

I have solar panels and create 25% more electricty than we use. My bill is essentially zero outside of a small amount each month I have to pay for grid upkeep. Took 6 years for the ROI on my solar loan (monthly loan was about what I was paying the utility). My next step is battery storage so I can go offgrid entirely or use the battery in case we lose power.

Edit- My monthly utility bill was averaging $225 over the year so my current monthly bill now that the loan is paid off is about $30.

I like the idea of electric. Lots of torque but really not sure of the usability for off-roading. This seems aimed towards the Homedepot runner where you have charging stations nearby since you're in the city. For off-roading I would be anxious running out of charge and not even having the ability to have a friend bring you a can of gas let alone try and find a charger you can get a tow to nearby. I'm sure some tech would be invented sometime in the future that would solve this maybe.

Electric cars came out at the same time back then, they were marketed more towards ladies so they didn't have to crank start them.

I have been looking into solar but after the quotes l received over the past couple months it would take well over 20 years just to break even on the cost. Just because things work well in one area of the country doesn't necessarily mean it would work everywhere.

How much were the quotes? That sounds crazy that it would take 20yrs to break even. Out here there are solar companies everywhere. We also have sun 95% of the year. It's why I'm happy to pay the sunshine taxes in San Diego.....
