Let me know what you guys think of the deal I got.

    Deal date: 4/21/21

    • Packages: Technology Package with options $1,285
    • Accessories:
      • Vehicle Protection Package127 $359
      • Tacoma Blackout Package $399
      • Premium Carpet Mat Set (4 piece) $245
      • Connectivity Kit $59
    • DELIVERY, PROCESSING & HANDLING FEE $1,245

TOTAL PRICE (MSRP) (AS BUILT) $40,972

Just cancelled the factory order I placed. 54 days without so much as a confirmation, let alone ETA.

    Super
disappointed in Toyota at the moment.

I've got thousands of dollars in mods both in my basement and on order waiting for this ghost truck... :censored:

Edit: Is every dealership terrible, or just all four I've had dealings with in the Portland area so far?

Sorry to hear that man. It seems very hit or miss from reading the forums and what I’ve personally dealt with. I think there are lazy dealerships that don’t want to search for your specific vehicle and hopes for a match in their upcoming allocations. If what you want isn’t there then I think you’re beat. My dealership worked out a swap with another dealership they apparently work out trades with. The system seems more like a lottery than anything else.

Yeah I'm losing hope that my dealer actually knows what they are doing. They just sent me an allocation confirmation for a totally different packaged truck in the WRONG color today. Wtf.

    Such scumbags.

The pressure to buy off-lot is so immense --one dealer flat out refused to even place the order.

Half tempted to report them to Toyota for this stuff. For now, a scathing Google review will suffice.

Call Toyota Corporate Customer Service. Why would you not? It’s the only way you’re going to get anything done. They are very receptive to that. They are required to respond to you within 24 hours I believe. I’m definitely not a fan of people calling to complain for no reason or just to be a pain in the ass but if what you said is true then that’s a very legitimate complaint and something they probably want to know about. I don’t think they’ll care very much about a Google review.

When I bought my last truck, when it finally came in, the dealercash(SET version of customer cash). Had changed and they weren’t getting the 1500 that they were in the previous month. here they don’t always give you the incentive because it’s paid to the dealer as opposed the customer. So if someone wants to pay full MSRP then they can do that then pocket the incentive. They don’t advertise it or list it. they tried telling me that The price of the truck went up because of this. I said no way you don’t get to have it both ways. No where was it listed as part of the discount on the agreed-upon deposited sales price. If you’re going to screw people that don’t ask for it you don’t get to screw me as well when it doesn’t work out in your favor. They disagreed until a call into customer service had them agreeing wholeheartedly. They were crying about how they’re going to have to eat that cost and what not.

I also got a quote for the same build, pricing was exactly the same as yours give or take a few hundred. Also trying to get them lower.

Hmm, I am going on about 45 days but I checked with my salesperson last week to see if I needed to adjust my expectations. he had estimated early June. He checked and said he still feels that is a good time frame but he does not have a verified VIN yet. I know people who have ordered thru him and he has come thru.

Supply is tight at least in CA. There are ZERO Offroad DCLBs in all of San Diego right now according to the Toyota inventory tracker. Doesn't matter what packages ou want, you cannot find an Offroad DCLB at all.

I will definitely look into this. Anyone happen to have a link handy?

Just got off the phone with a dealer who said any dealership claiming to "build you a truck" is straight-up lying. Apparently Toyota has not built special order trucks in a decade. Not sure if this dealer or all others are fibbing, just passing the info along.

That WOULD explain why every dealership starts getting cagey when I ask if there would be a hard delivery date provided within a couple of weeks...

Wanted to wait this shortage out, but have to get a ride. Couldn't think of a better choice than the Tacoma.
2021 Tacoma TRD Pro. Black. All terrain tire upgrade. No other add-ons. I had the hardest time negotiating the 699.00 toyota protection package (2 oil changes, couple of tire rotations, exterior paint protection, interior protection, blah blah). Finally had to tell em I would walk, and they took it off. This is the best offer I could find in my area. It is being ordered and I'm waiting a minimum of 90 days.
I live in Alpharetta, GA (metro Atlanta area).

    Vehicle Base Model: $47,030.00
Total Installed packages & Accessories: $849.00
    Delivery Processing and Handling: $1,175.00.
    Total MSRP: 49,054.00
