Yeah, unless it is some decked out custom Taco, I think I’ll stick to taking pictures with my phone from distance; 99% of the photos I take are with my phone, because it draws less attention...

One time in February 2021 while doing DoorDash in Philly, I saw a 1985 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit parked at the curb like a common Accord or Camry; This was in a sketchy area, but it was during the day, so I parked the truck and took pictures with my phone. Nothing happened, but that was a Rolls-Royce and I think most reasonable people wouldn’t find it out of the ordinary to see someone taking pictures of a Rolls-Royce...

I don’t mind talking taco with others but if you followed/caught up with her into a parking lot and parked behind her?
    Did you pin her in?
Being a dad of a young woman I’d say your lucky, my daughter would have called the cops or me.
Just got a little ta co excited I’d say.
She may not have spoken the language or didn’t want to be robbed/raped/killed?

Yea much different when you on the streets in south beach walking around taking pics of the Lambos and other exotic cars. It’s not so cool taking pics of 15 year old Toyota’s. We know your intentions are harmless but they don’t. 30 years ago we probably wouldn’t even be discussing this. Today it’s a different story.

In over a decade of being a hobby photographer, I’ve only had the cops called on me once, for the high crime of taking pictures of 1800s Victorian houses in Doylestown with my SLR...

I didn’t pin her in; I saw her pull into a spot and parked perpendicular to her. I was quite a distance away from her until she parked, so she wouldn’t have seen me.

Being the autistic dingus I am, I assumed everything would be fine because it was in a fairly expensive area before dark.

I don’t think anyone would question you taking a photo. But I would guess the driver wouldn’t want to be confronted with questions. If the driver of that was the actual owner anyway

One bad apple to ruin the bunch they say!

we are here by choice, having some stranger snoop around your vehicle is not something I’d choose. If I saw the fellow had a taco I might make an exception.

I was thinking more on the lines of a butler or personal driver. But you get the idea.

COVID times as well. Like me personally, i'm in the 'young and healthy' crowd so i'm not so concerned about other people. But my wife is pretty cautious about anything and everything COVID and she would be freaking out if someone random came up to her trying to talk. Could be that scenario in your situation. My wife, guaranteed, would have started her car and drove away with you standing at her window while calling me freaking out... just saying.

Male stranger walks up to a woman. The woman instinctively feels uncomfortable. Not a smart move at all Charlie.

As a husband and father of 2 daughters....if I witnessed it I would be walking up on you to determine what was going on

Oh man, i'm only referencing my own experience but with my wife - mask, no mask, 6ft, 10ft, inside her car, outdoors, etc... doesn't matter she'd react the same way.

Edit: just saying this COULD be what was going through her mind.

Rolls in the ghetto? Hell no, I ain’t taking no pictures. I am going on about my business, so the owner doesn’t think I am interested in their business.

I know, I know; I fucked up, Bill!

    :facepalm::annoyed:

I can still proudly say that I haven’t had a photography-related “incident” in years and I’m gonna keep it that way.
