Yeah those pumps are trash. I threw mine away and went with “Deatchwerks?”

Does it whine at low speed? I took my truck out to catch some gravel and man it was loud when I was going slow up a small hill

It was loud all the time. It would drown out the engine at idle and when fuel sloshed around it would sometimes activate which I could feel and hear inside the cab.

    Those Walbros are a joke.

In fact I had 2 because I thought something was wrong with one of them.

From what I have heard, AEM pumps are nice and quiet

Wonder if you could get it decked at a machine shop - you didn't have a leak between the original plenum and the manifold I'm assuming?

Mine is really only loud when it's hot outside or I've been driving for a few hours. But when it's loud it's loud. I don't know about feeling it resonating in the cab but you certainly hear it in there when it gets hot.

Walboro says it's inherit of the design but still annoying af. Mines lasted 5 years so far though

In the past I’ve thought about getting someone to make a set of thermal Teflon gaskets. But after thinking about it I was worried that it would be so “squishy” that it would break one of the little toes off on the ends. Ive already seen a few repairs in that area so I backed off.

but it’s worth a thought for one that’s maybe 1/16” instead of 1/8” like I originally planned. Hard part would be finding someone to do it.

I didn’t feel it but definitely hear it in the cab. If I listen back by the tank it almost sounds like it’s sucking a little air. Like a filter on a fish tank

The Felpro ones with the blue outlines of the passages are the biggest ones I’ve seen. You could try permatex on the outside ridge of the mating surface.

Maybe the P/O of the supercharger overheated his bad slightly warping the mating surface?

Do you have a flat edge you could check that with?

Also, maybe clean those bolts and the holes really good and using something to lubricator them all evenly then torque.
Possible you’re getting some wonky torque values?

Im not an expert but if it were me I would run a bead around each port on the bare side and let it tack up ten install it. That way you don’t have a mess and it should still seal up.

Making it thin with your finger and waiting for it to be tacky would keep it from dripping in, especially if you make it super thin near the inside

Its rtv, its not going to crumble? Maybe im not thinking the same here, but you can just scrape it off yeah?

The option I would do first would be buy a new oem gasket and clean both surfaces extremely well, then tighten together. Check both for flatness with a machinist's straight edge and feeler gauges.

Permatex will kind of peel. IMO it wouldn't be a huge issue especially if you used compressed air / vacuum to blow out any debris that get down in the passages. But yeah, no reason any old gasket shouldn't seal if they're both flat surfaces... any confirmation it's that and not anything else on the sc?

After noticing the vacuum diagram under the hood I decided to pull the vacuum line going to to the pressure regulator; letting the regulator vent to atmosphere. LTFT went to 0..
I didn’t realize the regulator didn’t require a vacuum source from the factory. I went ahead and hooked it back up for a boost reference. Anyone using a check valve here?

You would always have positive pressure, essentially making it a higher pressure system and not increasing with boost. Dont know how nice that would play.

I highly doubt that RTV would do any harm going through an engine.

but maybe I’m wrong. I would think it being very soft that it would either burn up or just get blown out the exhaust.
