I’m confused by this thread. Just plug the nail hole man. It’s not the dealers responsibility unless you got suckered into the road hazard warranty

Mix up some water and dish soap. Paint it around the tread, beads, and valve. Look for bubbles. There’s your problem. If on the bead it’s a defective tire. If on the tread it’s your responsibility. Learn how to plug a tire. It’s a valuable skill.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    Jeesh. Neewbie drivers.
If you've got a tire slowly losing air pressure, the most likely cause is a puncture with the nail, screw, sharp object still embedded in the tire.
Also possible is a poorly cast wheel that's a bit porous. But that's only likely to be the case if that one tire has been that way from the day you picked up your vehicle.
Some tires come with a road hazard warranty. Usually prorated for the miles left on the tire (which means you get to contribute toward a new tire).
If it is a simple puncture the dealer may just opt to plug & patch. Chances are, they're not gonna give you a new tire for free.
I've had great luck with a proper plug & patch, so I wouldn't lose sleep over having that done.
HOWEVER - if it's a sidewall puncture, I'd replace the tire and hope for a road hazard warranty (or pay out of pocket if not).

For a long time, I would only get patches, but after spending hours spooning only to have to think about demounting for a tiny puncture, it got me over it. I've had plugged tires up at speed and down to the cords with no issues.

I’d like to see a garage squad - 3rd gen taco episode.

Restoring one tire at a time. I wonder how many other 3rd gen owners would be calling in to see if they’d make the cut.

Aren’t DIY plugs less reliable than a tire shop repair? Also, if you DIY and it doesn’t hold well, some tire shops will not repair it if you’ve already been in there with a kit.

I keep a plug kit but only in case I absolutely have no choice but to use it.

I've been plugging them that way for years without any issues. Removing the tire and patching from the inside is probably better but you will pay alot more for it. As long as you ream the hole and use rubber cement you won't have a problem. You can't use a plug too close to the sidewall though.

I plugged a hole in the middle of the tread once myself, similar kit but those tools are nicer than mine. Hole was due to a hex head lag bolt, I can’t imagine how it got in the tire. Had to remove it with a socket wrench. The plug did ok for a while but leaked gradually, so I had it repaired, and the shop bypassed their normal policy of refusing to repair a hole that had previously been reamed and plugged. Maybe it was leaking because it was a bolt and not a smaller screw or nail, who knows.

that could be. A bolt would leave a large gouge compared to a screw. I’d be nervous to use one of those plugs on anything larger than a Sheetrock screw type of leak.

    Don't be daft or lazy.

The slow leak could be a from a puncture or from a valve stem or from the TPMS sensor seal.

Sort it out. Don't bother the dealer with such trivial stuff.

Simple path. Take the suspect wheel off the truck. Use a soap and water solution. Wipe down sections of the tire, look for bubbles.....POOOOF you found the leak. Dry the tire, circle the leak with a white grease pencil, take it to a tire shop. Be sure to check the beads, tread, valve stem.

when I was young, I worked at a gas station. Probably literally plugged thousands of tires.
Pro tip 1: when you pull out the screw/nail/whatever its vital to ream the hole exactly as the offending item was pulled out.
Pro tip 2: you have got to use a quality plug kit, dont go cheap here, in my opinion.
Pro tip 3: if you pull out a steakknife, the hole will be huge, dont plug it.
