I'm watching LINK see-saw right on the brink of my GTFO point. I don't want to let it go but I gotta lock in at least 20% profit.

Just let my Doge go for 40% profit, it was a fun ride. Still took about 5k in gains, but it was almost at 15k at one point. This morning it was so clearly being manipulated by whales using timed buying and selling every 15 min it was hard to watch. Oh well

VTI includes small and mid cap companies, SP500 is only large cap.

The current market environment is a huge tailwind to small/mid cap. That's why VTI is outperforming at the moment. Large cap had slaughtered small/mid for nearly a decade prior to this.

Diversifying to capture this is, I believe, the right move. There are large cap advocates who disagree and their arguments are not invalid. It's a personal call one has to make.

Yeah no, that's not how this works.

Say I'm a high-earning business owner. The first thing I do when there is an increase in my cost structure (and increased taxation from the government certainly counts) is pass that along to the people who provide my income. The actual cost of the taxation is borne by the customers of the wealthy. So your tax paperwork may not change, per se, but some good or service you consume, or rather a basket of them, increase in price a little bit instead such that you pay your share of Rich Person's taxes that year. Either way, it ends up being cost neutral to the target while increasing cost of living to those who exchange their labor for currency.

"We're only going to tax people who earn more than you" is good political messaging for the economically illiterate, which is most of America. So it sells well to most voters. That's why this particular lipstick is riding this particular pig. Using envy to stoke class-warfare distractions has been effective for a long long time and will probably remain so. Few people hate anyone as much as they hate the person that has what they want.

The other, arguably easier, move here is to simply re-structure your compensation to bring your income below the qualifying threshold. Ok, say I take home 1.1mil. My employer agrees to re-do my comp package to make it 900k w2 wages and an additional 200k in non-wage benefits - say, company-paid housing, automobile, health insurance, whatever. Or stock shares. There's always those.

Or, alternatively, there will be a TON of capital relocating to more tax-friendly arenas. Real estate comes immediately to mind, as if cost appreciation there wasn't already crazy enough. But hey, if those write offs and pass-through priveleges are what the wealthy need to offset this thing, that's what they'll use. God knows they have the money to buy the properties.

Why post images from imigur as opposed to just uploading the file directly?

Ahh, I usually just use the imgbb site or whatever it's called. Havent used it lately so I don't remeber the name

Have to say TW is probably the most user friendly forum I've ever used. All the other forum interface that I use are shit compared to TW. This site is so simple to use you could swear they designed it with an ape in mind....

Anyway got anymore of the GME?

I've followed everything that account posted since it showed up almost a month ago. Every post, all the comments, the works.

I'm not going to offer my opinion on it, but it's frightening when you start to put the whole picture together.
