Which octane is everyone using

How's the KDMax? I just got the ovtune

 

KDMax is superior to all the OVTunes I have run over the course of three+ years. The truck shifts differently, for one, but gives you ultra smooth shifts. It also delivers more immediate power and there are no lags at all. Overall, I prefer KDMax but OVTune is great too.

 

I was going to say bc the OVTune made me love the truck again, I can't imagine how good the KDMax is lol

I use 89

 

I also use 89. I can tell a slight improvement from 87 but nothing if I move up.

 

87. My truck is for making money, not pissing it away. And it purrs just fine all the way to the bank getting better than stickered mileage.

To go off what others have said about top tier fuel and not octane ratings. I really wish a tuner would jump on this, as they could actually provide feedback on if the Tacoma stock tune is even capable of adjusting its timings for higher octane. My guess is probably not.

That station lives on the wifey’s Highlander radio...or Hair Nation. She only changes channels when our 11 yo daughter is riding along.

 

Wow! I saw those prices here in the midwest a year ago. I just paid $2.79 for 87.

 

92 Octane

 

The base stock may be the same but costco adds in their own additives at their stations.

 

Wow that 93 is almost a dollar less than us here in FL I know why. Texas has more refineries than any other state. Show off lol.

 

No, additives are either mixed at the refinery or at blending stations. Trucker Bob dropping a load of fuel at the station is not mixing additives and for sure not the Costco employee running around in the hivis vest.

 

Lol this reminds me of those HEB gas stations that you can spend an extra $15 on for more additives. Those pumps even have little speakers that make “fluid mixing” sounds.

I see the fuel delivery trucks all the time but never seen the actual additives being added to their tanks I’m going to pay more attention when I fuel up.
