Dealer only sells the entire assembly. Not sure if there is an aftermarket part. This happens to people regularly though, so sooner or later they will have to fix the issue.

 

I just realized, your truck is 2015, correct? Might be different than mine then.

 

Nope... the parts are the same #.... Best thing to do is find a totalled (all air bags gone), then a wrecker might sell ya the whole seat..

If you replace the part it will just fail again. That pin style isn’t adequate for the current. What I would do is replace the entire 5-pin header with wires, lose the white melted plastic bit, and reconnect to the harness with a connector rated at 8-10A. If the board is heating up thicker copper wires will help draw the heat away. It looks like it uses an FET to control the current so medium power settings likely generate more heat on the control board than the highest and lowest settings. If it’s due to contact resistance at the pin a higher rated connector will solve the problem. Either way, it’s a piss poor design with an obvious fix.

 

I looked this up, and it says the parts only fit the Tundras. Did this fit your tacoma? I see that the part numbers are the same for this product and the amp for the tacoma

Yes. It happened to me as well. 2016 TRD Sport LB.
The assembly/pin was melted so I had to pry it open.
This is a safety concern. Just knowing some electrical component is burning under your @$$ as you're driving your beloved Tacoma.

 

my 2017 tacoma went out and I found the module had a burnt port, and the connector had melted a bit on that spot also. I swapped it with the driver side before a trip with my wife. I didnt last very long and I havent looked at it yet. Has anyone figured out the best replacement parts I will need to fix this correctly? Parts list? The module is part #875010C020. Thanks!

If you can solder/desolder then remove the white plastic part that’s burned and desolder the 5-pin header. If you can’t then find someone willing to do it for you. Replace those right angle pins with awg14 wires about 6” long. This will buffer the heat between the board and the connector and replace the pins with terminals rated for more current. Cut off the male plug and instead use a Molex .093 connector. They are rated at 17A and use awg14-22 size wires(if awg14 is used). The heavier wire with length between the board and heavier connector will diffuse the heat and provide a connection more capable of handling what remains. You can get molex connectors either with or without wires already crimped. I’d suggest getting 2 new modules and modding them prior to install. Then cut the oem plugs off and crimp in the new ones.
File a complaint with NHTSA. These keep failing out of warranty and going unreported. The only way to change that is to bypass the stealerships and report it anyway.

Well, called corporate and been told that there is nothing they can do as there is no current recall and it would have to be out of pocket charge.

 

I guess a few trucks must burn down before they will acknowledge the problem. Not cool...

 

They probably already have, and definitely not cool. This is a problem not normal wear.
