Anybody can cruise with us, in any vehicle! It started out as a group of tacos, hence the name, but we accept anyone!

Ripped off all four mudflaps. Scratches all down both sides 6112’s up front on 3rd notch 5100’s in back with Toytech 1” block Skids & sliders from SOS Concepts I got rid of the 1” block and put on Wheelers 1 1/2” progressive AAL. SPC UCA. Be sure your standing on the drivers side when reading the instructions! I swapped sides so many times that I can swap UCA’s in 15 minutes. I put in the 3/4” spacer to eliminate the Taco Lean, and just got my 4th alignment. Traded the OEM rims for 17” Sport rims and a bora bora 1” spacer. I got my Firestone 285/70/17 MT2’s. Pelfreybilt gas tank skid and hi-lift jack should be here Friday. Looking at bumpers, but I think they will wait for next year. So far I’m happy with my build. I’ve done it all myself, leading to a lot of cussing and frustration, but it’s all mine.
I had a toasted wheel bearing and barely any brakes on the last one. It was a good time.

Checking in from Huntingburg. Hoping to make one of the Taco Tours eventually, it's just hard for me to do anything on the weekends.

    Huntingburg sounds familiar. Around jasper?
I used to deliver glass to a dealership around there.

Yes, 7 miles South of Jasper.

Trivia: Huntingburg was the filming location for many scenes in A League of Their Own, most notably the "There's no crying in baseball" scene. It was also the backdrop for the movie Hard Rain with Ed Asner, Morgan Freeman, and Christian Slater.

Which dealership did you deliver glass to, if you don't mind me asking?

I believe it was a large Ford dealership. But now that I think of it, i believe it was in Jasper.
Is there a ford dealership across from Jasper engines or close by?

I worked at a glass shop out of my hometown in bloomington. I covered the southern route from btown to louisville all the way over to evansville in the early 90's.

Ruxer Ford Lincoln, just down the road from JET on the left. Great folks there, bought my Focus there, which I just traded in for my Taco.

Small world. Spent a lot of time in Bloomington in my early childhood. Dad was born and raised in Solsberry, family lived in Bloomington until moving south in the mid 70s right before I was born. I still have a brother that lives there, and a sister in Martinsville, brother in Evansville.

    Yes, Ruxer Ford.
I remember that dealer specifically because they had their own glass person that did the installation, all I had to do was make the delivery/drop off. So it was a big deal between the 3 of us at the office who got that route for the day.

We moved to Bloomington in "79", from Dayton, OH. Finished up middle school, went to high school, got married/divorced and started working for General Electric, Btowns largest employer in "96". They were laying off in 2001 so I took a transfer to sunny South Carolina. Been here ever since.

I try and get up there a couple times a year to see friends but my folks have since retired and moved to Ohio. Hard to split time up between friends and family in 2 states.
8 hrs to btown, 7 hrs over to Ohio and 9 hrs back to SC.

Looks like I'll be just another Indiana guy doing a frame repair on a 1st Gen this Summer. I might wait and do it closer to Fall just so the Fluid Film I put on will be as fresh as possible before Winter.

This is the truck I bought locally from a salvage yard (front collision), but it came from SE Tenn, so I thought probably had little salt exposure. Rest of the frame looks to be in good shape. I enjoy cutting and welding so I am not too upset about the situation. I'll probably find an excuse to cut out more, or add to it somewhere else.

It needs a new muffler too, so good time to get that done while the bed is off.

Glad I got my grass cut today!

We have about 1" of snow. Very unusual for us this late in the year. <30 degrees tonight also. Bye bye fruit tree buds.

    @Empty_Lord

    Welcome Back!

I saw your post in the LT thread with the new Kubota. Man, that is a life changer. Not sure if you've had a tractor before, but they are addictive, just like Toyotas. I posted in the Tractor thread on here that I have a Harley, a Jeep, and two 1st gen Tacos. If I went broke, I'd sell all of them before the tractor. The guns...that'ed be a close call. I'd need therapy if either had to go.

I love my 32hp Kubota and Taylor Way BH. I got mine back in about 2010. It was a factory repo with only 200hrs. Local guy with small dealership was a Kubota repo liquidator. I got the GST trans because my Dad uses it too and he was recovering from cancer: no leg strength for clutch or HST. Glide Shift Trans can be used with or W/O clutch. It's actually pretty cool.

I also have an old 54HP Ford industrial BH. It was a municipal tractor used only for grave digging. Still runs great.

I cleaned our farm pond last Fall. Glamour shot:
    20201014_094409.jpg

Couple of easy mods I've found really useful. I added LEDs front and rear, and an expanded metal front grille guard(Rivnut gun project). I put the rear one on one of those HF magnet bars with a hospital grade coiled W/H so it can be used for rear attachment work. They worked out real well. That's a rear view mirror from a Ford truck. Comes in handy when on road.

That small round rod is an indicator to tell you when your bucket is level. When the small offset bend is centered in the bracket, you are level. That is really helpful for picking up loose dirt/gravel.

    20200322_162516.jpg

I keep it stuck on the ROPs bar.
