That's why I got the HD instead of one of the lower tier models, the bigger tires and casters do a little better on the hills. Whole lot slopes down, there are a couple spots that I have to cut up and down with the nose up the hill, and then back down to the bottom. But for the most part it's fine.

Not sure if it was from the belt or just being thrown around so much. It was a pretty steep incline he rolled down.

Well I guess will see how terrible the stock 20x10-10 tires are, then shop for knobbies or something like this: https://www.chapmoto.com/atv/tires/?filter.ef_35=20 x 10 - 10&categoryid=7&page=1

If yards and fields were as smooth as modern roadways (and even those aren’t easy) it’s possible. I’ve been in MB SL500s where a simple hump in the road triggers the automatic roll bar, and rail road tracks as well.
The tech is there, overcoming the operator is more the issue, some drive with “sanity” others, not so much.
Watching an operator beat themselves to death for the sake of speed has always been amusing to me.

Took me a minute to realize the SL was not a mower. Makes sense once I figured it was a Benz.

Were you making sure you did I correctly the first time ? (Says the guy who sideswiped the front bumper with the rear tire of his Kubota, and didn’t realize it, and blamed his wife for hitting something..... it took me about half a day to realize I screwed up, and another day to apologize.....)

Well, did the first mow with the new beastie. That thing absolutely FLIES. Decently quiet and quite vibration free. The specs say 11.4 MPH, you'd need a grass tennis court to run that fast. I think I'll use it this fall to run down deer.

I will say, if you have a choice to get the air ride seat on a new mower, spring for it. It's worth it.

We were talking about using battery impacts to take off mower blades on MTF and I went out and checked my Ryobi 1/4" drive impact. It uses the little screwdriver bit sized hex shank. Torqued a 5/8" bolt to 100ft/lbs with my Snap-On torque wrench.

Based on this I think their 1/2" would probably get sum!

I have the brushed 1/2” impact, it won’t do 17mm head M10x1.25 axle bolts on a forklift (I have air impact out anyway for lug nuts, so it’s a non-issue) just doesn’t have the ass for it, it does do many other things that means I don’t have to work a ratchet (anything I can do to NOT have repetitive motion these days is a bonus)
The bolts referenced are also set with cone washers, so that’s and added resistance and even an air gun hits a few times to break them loose.
I have the 18v 3/8” impact, it’ll twist off most fasteners if I’m not careful.
The 18v 1/4” hex drive is THE BOMB for body panel and dash work, saved my ass a few weeks ago when I had 65 machines I had to do software updates to and several 4mm hex screws to remove and install per machine.
Also have the 18v grease gun, man I love it ! havent used my pneumatic grease gun since last fall !
Add 18v 1/2” hammer drill, because holes must be made, and screws must be extracted....
And of course an 18v fan just so I can be cool.....
and then there are the 18v yard tools.....

Iv noticed the “brushless “ motors are the way to go. I’m looking at the ryobi 3/8 brushless impact that I’d like to stay with, due to the room I have when getting under rider decks. I have a IR 1/2 cordless that will take off anything I’ll run into BUT it’s so damn big and long :anonymous:
Iv also taken a look into the rigid 3/8 stubby... I like! But then would need to invest in different brand chargers and batteries :-/ it also has some good Torque numbers. Combined with there large battery, it’ll probably do the trick. If you don’t like it Home Depot returns it with very little hassle.

I know that the 1/2 18v Makita impact that I've been looking at for my kit is good for around 400 ft/lbs. I've been super tempted a few times, but I've already got a pneumatic air gun & full air system in the garage, and that's where 99% of my impact work takes place. Haven't convinced myself that $180 for a portable 'spare' impact gun is worth it yet.

If you removed the blocks, put on some tires and removed it from the lawn, it wouldn't happen.;)

The irony, it was one of the ones that actually ran, my nicer car for summer, both times the car was undamaged.
episode 1: Caught the fender arch with the bumper of a Dodge Ramclunker, bent the bumper.
episode 2: Slid into it on an icy driveway with a Jeep J10 truck, buckled the fender flare on the Jeep.
