hi everyone. i have installed my heated seats, but i have 1 problem. i tapped into my HVAC controls for power. not the best choice because my parking lights have to be on for the seats to work! i did not realize this when i was testing the power. my goal is to have the seats on when i use auto start. Where would i tap into power for the heated seats to come on when i use auto start? right now, my radio and cig lighter do not come on when using auto start. Thanks for any help!

I used an Add a Fuse.
Find a fuse on your fuse panel, that is turned on and off with ignition, and connect to that.

    Speaking from my T4R install..
I had 4 wires, - ignition (triggered the relay), power (20amp), dash lights (for switches), and ground.
My instructions had the ignition and dash lights wire swapped due to the after market switches, and me using Toyota Switches..
Sounds like a similar situation.. kinda.. ;)

I wired up a constant power source through a circuit breaker from the battery, with switched power coming from the fuse block under the left side lower area (found one that is on when the truck is turned on.) If the switch to the seat heaters is on when the truck is started it is on. Look at the schematic on the lid for the fuse panel and choose a different power source with your add a fuse.

Fuse tap and I used the passenger side window fuses as the tap location. It’s probably my favorite mod. Ass warmage for the win!!!!!!!

My 4Runner console switches are from a 100 series Land Cruiser. It's a Low / Off / High rocker switch. Not a rotary switch (like in my 06 Limited).
The switches/spots by the steering column on my 06 Tacoma, appear to be the same size.

The heating pads were wired to function as 12V to each heating pad (high), or 12 to both (upper/lower) pad (low). The heating pads are also meant for a 100 series Cruiser.

btw - The rotary switch method typically requires a brain box to function.
Rocker switch method just requires relays.

    Good luck on your install.
