Looks like this is a solid place for advice and ideas. Picking up my new truck in a couple weeks. Have had a Tacoma in the past but went to a full size to accommodate pulling moto-trailers. Downsizing back to a Tacoma now that priorities have change.

Didn't realize the support network for these trucks was so extensive. That's great and I'll certainly be tinkering and making changes. Since I really shouldn't ride dirtbikes anymore, I have to direct my "tinkering" efforts elsewhere.

I am very interested in the OVTune modifications to these trucks (and researching this now). Since I live at altitude, any extra power I can squeeze out of that engine will be worth it...especially with a quad in the back...or a quad and a big dead elk through mountain passes.

    Regards

Welcome! I also ventured briefly into the full size world when racing moto, quickly moved back to a Tacoma and just like you have hung up my boots besides my CRF450RL, still can't not pass MX bike in the back of a truck without a sense of sadness moving over me but I'll be alright. I was gonna say you're good in my book until you mentioned quad, lol, anyways don't know much about the tune as stock has suited me just fine, but welcome and look forward to your build!

835A8AD0-A032-4088-BE27-2BE57D95EC33.jpg Yeah seeing a bike in a truck is rough. Just can’t afford the medical bills anymore...and it’s taking longer to heal! When your a “regular” in the local ER...it’s time to hang it up.

I’ll be going back to one with a 6’ bed as well. Only haul a quad a Grizzly a few times a year but that extra room is nice. This time it’ll be silver. Last one was white.

Picking up my CRF450RL hopefully this week (buying a bike during COVID is as bad as buying a truck right now). Time to rip all the street sh*t off and make her a bit more appropriate.

I've hauled bikes in an AC, DCLB and DCSB, living with the DCSB for 80% of the time when bikes arent in the back is worth the trade off in my opinion on bed space, but never tried to run a quad back there. I feel ya, I only raced when I was active duty, now that I'm a nurse and pushing mid 30's as much as I wish I could still send some doubles just not the wisest decision so hopefully this dual sport can keep me from not totally wanting to drown myself. Welcome again and looking forward to seeing new truck!
