I just ordered 5 from SimpleTire - 265/70/R17 116T XL. I won't have my wheels until mid May, but SimpleTire said their stock was "VERY low". They're on sale now for $170.97/tire, and last night they were $164. I was hoping to order through Les Schwab so that I could just bring my wheels in for the install, but they were were only able to get the E load in that size. So, I guess now I'll have to make a couple trips to bring both the wheels and the tires into a shop... annoying but worth the cost savings.

Edited to add: If you were looking to get this size from SimpleTire, I highly suggest you don't sit on it....

Yes. I run Duratracs now that are 51lbs. Was interested if anyone was running the 265/75/16 version of this Maxxis tire.

Do the SL versions have a 3 ply sidewall? My understanding is the LT version is 3 ply sidewall... Anyone verify?

    Thanks!

Same exact experience ordering from tyresgator.com. Received wrong size and no response from email or phone.

I finally did get a call from them and got a refund after several emails and messages to their Instagram.

They sent a Fedex return label and said they would be here to pick the tires up sometime last week.

They’re still sitting out in my driveway waiting for pickup

Wondering if I’ll end up with a free set of E’s I’ll never use.

Geeze that is exceedingly frustrating. I really hope Les Schwalb starts stocking the SL's.

Not sure if this is what you're asking but pretty sure most modern tires are ply-equivalent, so rather than actually having 10 plys in the sidewall, the E's are most likely 10-ply equivalent rated.

I have the E's and SL's in my possession right now and the sidewall on the E is THICK. Stacked 4 high shows you how much more give the SL's have than the E's.

Would you read the sidewalls? It should say how the sidewall is constructed. 2 ply. 3 ply. Curious about both tires. Crazy the height difference!

    Perfect! Really appreciate the photos...
Glad to verify the LT is 3 ply sidewall. That's great for 3 peak snowflake tire - not many with 3 ply sidewall.

Hey guys, I'm stupid and can never seem to order shit right the first time. I'm trying to replace stock OR tires (265/70R16) with the Razr AT in SL. This is the right part number, correct? (thanks a ton for fact-checking me)

I’m wondering how the XL will compare against the SL in performance/longevity/puncture resistance. My understanding is that the XL has a little more internal reinforcement vs the SL. I found it interesting the 265/70R17 was only offered in an XL or E. Might be a nice slight compromise between the SL and E. I should be receiving them tomorrow; it will be good to see what plies are listed.

Only received 1/5 today, but this tire is definitely beefy hybrid looking. I like it.

Has anybody used these long enough to know how they wear? And does everybody generally agree these are quiet, at least for an AT?

Are these E’s and SLs the same size just a different rating?
