I responded with a gif of angry furry blue balls. I think taking it personally is a few steps away.

That's the spirit! You wouldn't fit in in Portland (Maine)

I dont mind a decent IPA, though not my go to.

What I cant stand though is the Seattle / Portland IPA trend the last few years of making them all "melt your face off" levels of hoppy.

Couldn’t agree more. Nothing wrong with the right IPA.

They said "Looks like a fun bike to ride but it is not a Ritchey."

Edit: @Bannerman do I get a beer now?

That's not really the trend here the last few years actually. Maybe 10 years ago. Now it's all about hazys and easy drinking IPAs. Harder and harder to find the good old stuff. But then you won't really find me drinking anything other than IPAs with the exception of some seasonal winter beers. Which makes this thread interesting....I don't personally know many people that don't primarily drink IPAs. haha

I dont understand why people only drink IPAs. There are other good beer styles out there. It bugs me to go to a bar, brewery, restaurant, or bottle shop, and 8/10 options for craft beers are IPA.

I don't mind an occasional IPA, but man, give us more options. If you can't tell I'm not a fan of how popular and ubiquitous IPAs have become in the last 10 years.

Elysian et al circa 2014-2015 last I lived there was rough. Glad that they've discovered they went a little too deep in the paint.

    this.

I don't care what beer you like, if you walk into a brewery and they have 10 beers...but 8 are the same style...fail of a brewery to me.

I inherited this idea from my father in law: I start with one, maybe two "stronger" beers (Cider, other more fun stuff) and then switch to the "long distance beer" - my favorite being Carib, but when I'm not getting sauced on a caribbean beach, it's gansetts.

Sell what the customers will buy. :notsure:

I agree, there's def the market base to support it. But I also know I've gone to several places where 8/10 are IPAs and the other 2 just aren't good beers. In which case, you end up ordering an IPA anyway.

In that case, I'm led to believe the brewing staff is a one trick pony in terms of style.

I’m with you. Just haven’t gone full hate on any and all IPAs.
