No idea but honestly if you are going flat out like that you should be at a track and if you are doing it over and over you can just spend 30-40 minutes charging it while you wait for your next turn.

I looked it up, turns out it pretty much a stupid question.... or at least it seems comparable to an ICE before refueling.

I saw a new vette the other day looks like it’s trying to be a Lamborghini. So I yelled out “is that a Supra!?” I was amused, they were not.

The Supra runs low 12's in the 1/4 mile. It's no slouch.

some guy did 30+ 0-60 runs in a row a couple years ago on a Model S, so I’m guessing “more than you’re comfortable with”. And it’s not like you don’t see ICE cars popping the hood to cool off after a run at the track anyways

I think a better question is - how many factory ICE cars will do a mid-10 ¼ and last for hundreds of thousands of miles? And the roadster is (allegedly) going to run a 7.xx from the factory?

The upcoming gen of electric trucks is gonna be fun as hell.

I would readily by an electric vehicle - IF they can improve the towing range... which doesn't look feasible anytime soon.

I don't need an ICE or electric vehicle that can do a 11sec quarter mile.

Once you've done it you'll change that answer to yes you do need one.......

My M3 won't hit 11's but that's because it's a manual. Do I need to go that fast, no, but it's a hell of a lot of fun......

I'm sure it's fun and cool. I'd be fine with driving the most boring and unappealing EV, because at the point I'm driving an EV, the only thing I need it to do is get from point A to point B.

Tesla allows you to modulate your acceleration via a foot-activated “pedal” system, so you’re able to control the rate at which power is applied. They’ve thought of everything :)

Horse to Car is like Car to teleportation now. It's nowhere near the same.

ICE to EV is just another car with a different "engine". So more like a mule to a horse?

It's a simple comparison that doesn't require too much nuance.
The arguments being made against EVs are nearly the same as were made to the transition to automobile.
Arguments about infrastructure, capability, reliability, longevity, etc were all made about gasoline, too.
What is a car but a horseless carriage?

Humans are pretty bad at predicting the future. No one knows how quickly the transition will happen for sure. The one wild card is governments making ICE so expensive to buy, like what happened in Norway, that EV sales would be accelerated significantly. So basically it will simply come down to cost.

Interesting thing about Norway they have huge oil and gas mining and export and take that money to fund a program to incentivize Ev purchases and the profits pay for free EV charging for all EV cars. 29% of the country car sales are EV compared to 1%in the USA.

I know you’re talking percentages but More people live in Jersey than Norway, like 2 million more. The us is 328 million and Norway is less than 6 million. All that oil money goes quite a bit further
