No completed pics yet as there was a small install issue that needs to be fixed first

Okay peeps need some help bad. Put 3rd Gen Off-road Coils in with 3rd Gen Bilstein 4600 shocks. We thought all was well until I got home and the top shock nut and bushing on the drivers side moved up and down a 1/2 inch or so. Now I have 7 washers on top to snug it up until I get it fixed. During install we forgot to put on the lower cushion washer which is what I think the problem is. This is tight as a sphincter with no movement. I should be okay for a few days as long as I take it easy with no bumpy roads or Highway you think? I don’t need to hear it’s dangerous etc just want to know if this should be good until I get it pulled apart?

Hey Rick, I've made the same mistake before, just caught it on the spring compressor before installing on the truck. There is a washer/ collar that goes under the top hat that rests on the top shelf of the shock piston. So long as you're gentle it won't damage anything, you're just not going to have any dampening from the shocks

You should be fine until you get it fixed. As long as it's all snugged tight. No trails for you:rofl:
Good luck, hope all is well Rick

I can't say for sure, but my instinct says you'll be fine. the purpose of the washer/ collar that you're missing is to lock the shock to the top mount so that it cycles w/ the spring

So it took 7 washers on both sides to get it to snug up

Just went out and took some measurements. I used all 3rd Gen parts and all 3 corners are 21 inches from center hub to bottom of the fender flare, and the Driver's as expected is 20 1/2 that will be fixed with the 1/4 lean spacer. So now no Baja Kit for me as it will make me nose high, and I don't want to lift the rear at all. So I will be staying with full 3rd Gen suspension.
