How are your front boots looking? One of mine blew up and threw blue grease all over the side

 

Mine are good, about 20k on the lift but I'm not cranked up real high or anything - about 2" over stock up front.

Are you lifted? You must be if a boot tore already!

That's an anomaly, a defective part or something got kicked up on the road and punctured it - the dealer isn't giving you crap about that too are they?

 

No I luckily got that fixed under warranty. They tried to sell me on a patch kit and I said hell no. Got the whole new axle assembly. Which I think includes bearing..

That's not a good dealer. If you have other options, explore them!

 

I do have other options just been taking it there because that’s who I bought it from. First time I had a vehicle I didn’t just fix myself

 

Clean the throttle body

 

I can't imagine why a dealer would suggest a CV boot patch over warranty work but if they did I sure wouldn't trust them to fix a finicky idle issue caused by a previous visit

 

Carb cleaner?

 

There's actually a throttle body cleaning spray. It is supposed to leave behind a film that slows down the build up. Grab an old tooth brush, rag and go to town. If it does not work you are only out a couple bucks and some time

The idle may be high after you are done cleaning. This will come down as the computer relearns. Not saying this will fix your problem but it's the first thing I personally would check

 

I’m looking for a YouTube on removing throttle body and I’m not finding one for a gen3. Maybe I’ll get a Haynes manual

 

Does this look dirtier than usual? I scrubbed it clean and wiped down the gasket
