I left the ECT throttle like it is on the KDMax Regular tip in.
It is more aggressive than 2.0 and shift points are higher, and throttle is higher.

Your cable can be used with the new software.
You can get set up then PM me for the tunes, I'll give you instructions for payment and post them to you.
If you ever need changes or updates, you just PM me. And you can always flash back to 2.0 or stock tunes.
With all the monitoring that we did during testing, I would think that the longevity is still there or better.

PM me and I will help you get it done.

I flashed up Wife-Tune this morning after running the SLT for a few weeks and several hundred miles. WT is about perfect IMO as I found SLT a bit touchy. Now the throttle, and entire tune, behave as I'd have expected from the factory.

And for those trying to rename this awesome new KDMAX variant, don't even go there. Wife-Tune is hilarious.

I think @BortisYeltzen has spent a decent amount of time in 4-Lo, but I'm not sure about crawl control specifically.

Yeah, if you spend time in 4Lo you want SLT or WifeTip.

Just had the KDMAX 6.0 done by @SubaruTheTacoma . Reg. Fuel. SLT. It's fantastic. Shifts better than my Shift Sense. And it rips. Thanks Rhys. PXL_20210423_182611771.MP.jpg PXL_20210423_182630505.MP.jpg

I have put a few miles on the SLT premium AGM version, both unloaded and with my RTT and lots of gear. My truck is a 2016 AT with 32's, stock gears and only added weight is a hidden winch.

I was starting to make my own tune but the mount of trial and error required was not fitting into my schedule. The Taco is not my DD, so I took the plunge. The tune is incredible. It would've taken me years to get it this polished. The shifts are right on time, it holds 5th or 6th on the highway, cruise control is actually useable and the alternator is putting out 14.7v to my AGM.

I was set on regearing before this tune, now I don't think I need it. I nearly sold this truck so many times because of the factory tune, now I never liked my truck so much. My only criticism is I think the 4-5 light throttle upshift is a little late, around 45mph. There are a lot of roads near me where Im under light throttle between 35-45mph. In my tuning, I had 5th come in at about 36mph. I'm sure with more weight or bigger tires, like most people have, it is better to hold 4th a little longer. All around fantastic work on this tune.

@MDFM31 , when I first flashed the KDM6 I thought that it slipped into 5th under light throttle before I wanted it to. I asked Kreg to tweak it a bit so it now shifts around 45-47 mph. For some that may be a bit much but for me it’s perfect. Plus the higher rpm has not impacted the gas mileage. May even have improved it!

    geaux @PapaRee !!

I went with the LT tune. Seems to be the perfect "Goldilocks" zone for my taste and weight. Drives great in stop and go traffic. Still don't have a ton of highway miles on it yet. Also, I really can't tell what ECT does now. Its not discernible that its doing anything at all when I turn it on, no matter what speed I am driving.

I’m guessing that ECT will be the perfect setting for towing a travel trailer. Like you, as soon as I flashed the KDM6, ECT became unnecessary for my purposes. I’m really looking forward to finding out how good it will be for towing.

ECT has higher shift points and a little higher throttle. Good for towing and more performance.

If I hold the pedal steady at 2100 rpms and push the ECT button, literally nothing in the truck changes. The speed and RPMs stay the same. Is that expected? I got on it a little on the highway, starting at 60 mph, I wanted to go 65. Hit ECT in the middle of accelerating a consistent delta v and nothing changed. Just the same smooth acceleration delta, until I reached 65. Zero detectable difference. That was not my experience with OVTune. Maybe this is expected though, and I would notice if towing (which I do need to do on occasion)? Not complaining, just not what I expected. I agree with @wiljayhi that I don't really seem to need the ECT mode so far, as this tune just does its job when and where you need it to. So if its made to work different than OVTune (like for towing, I would notice) then that is Ok, too. Last thought, it would be neat to have ECT mode put the tune to standard Tip In, and ECT off to be Light Tip In. I think I read someone asking for that or similar a few pages back. Just my initial 2 cents, so far so good! Thanks for a great tune @PapaRee & @TWTaco!

I just looked at the tune in VFtuner. All of the ECT throttle settings are higher than the normal throttle settings.
All of the upshifts are higher than the normal upshifts--It will hold a gear longer.
For example- if you are in 3rd gear it will stay there longer until it shifts to 4th.
It is not extreme, but it is higher. Like 5-10mph higher.

If someone wanted ECT to be "lighter" than Normal driving, then I would set the throttle lower and the shifting lower than normal instead of higher.

Sounds like it will be perfect for towing, or when I am fully loaded, and/or when I am on Vail pass at 11,000 feet lol. Holy shit these trucks die at high elevation! Can't wait to get some miles on it. Headed South out of Denver, there is a slight elevation rise on I-25 in Castle Rock. It's right where the speed limit goes from 65 to 75. Thats always a good test. Headed that direction next weekend.

Very interested in how it goes. Yeah I've had my taco at 9,000 + ft and yeah gutless turd lol great fuel mileage which is strange that's what I experienced . Recently was running all around moab trails getting to and from trails and few times about 7,000 ft damn I miss that place already . Trying to go back again this year in fall .

I pulled Vail pass about a month ago. Truck didn't seem bad. I didn't even notice a difference. Just let the truck eat at 5500 RPM.
