HAHAHAHA, awesome how emojis can be used instead of words to get the point across... almost like a coded message.:laugh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Yeah, I actually had a fun time. Both of my arms were killing me after close to 2.5hrs. Plus, it was starting to get warm and "I" was right next to the ocean? o_O:facepalm:

Going again this coming weekend, but that might have to hold off until NEXT weekend. I wanna pull my other detector out of storage and I need to grab a coil as well.

But anyways, that's the plan AND going to a different part of the sand where there is definitely more foot traffic. It's just that where you can park your car... for free... and where the actual beach is is QUITE a bit of walking. :turtleride::goingcrazy::bananadead:

I've been out exploring the same area a little at a time. You're post inspired me, so on my last trip to the area I kept a lookout for evidence of dry diggins. No luck there, not entirely sure what to look for, but vintage cans are sure in abundance.DSC2114.jpg

Although I don't detect, I have an interest in mining history, especially after reading multiple first hand accounts from 1848-1850.

Nice looking area anyway though, it’s good you got out - very good historical place wasn’t it? Were you on Gold Crown Road or where was it taken if you don’t mind sharing?

Whenever my truck finally gets fixed, which is gonna be quite some time though, but anyways, I would like to "expand" my "area type" and/or "style". I never hunted open areas such as that out in the open country/land. I wouldn't know what to really look for either?

Anyways, be cool to meetup someday for a field hunt.:fistbump:

Do you have one of the little 6-inch coils for your Nox? That is a great gold nugget detector as well as an artifact detector, it will do as well as a Gold Monster for small nuggets.

Yeah we should meet up sometime, Franconia or Quartzsite before it gets too hot.

Good eye! It was either Gold Crown Road, or my failed attempt to get to the OK mine. (Solo, stock, and not huge experience, so I turned around for another day.) There were cans in many areas, looking forward to my next stint out there.

Thought about it several times in life, but determined I couldn't maintain the interest, so I never bought anything. Gave it a hard look.

I’ve been on that road a few times, first trip there was in my friend’s dad’s Vista Cruiser in ‘79 when we graduated HS, we made it all the way through from the park north all the way up to Highway 62 without busting the oil pan or getting a flat, beat that!

    I don't have a Nox.

    I have:
    ACE 250 & 350
    Infinitum LS (still learning)
    GTI 2500 (still learning)

The LS I'm not used to a PI so I just lack the practice with it although I'm getting used to it.

The GTI, I don't take out as much... But, I plan on using it the next few hunts.

Finally, they're all Garrett's just because it ended up that way. I was in the process of getting a Minelab, but couldn't decide on which one.

Tesoro was on the list too, but WTH happen to them now is a mystery to me? I hear they technically didn't go out if business, but that was quite a while back when I heard that... I haven't bothered since.

But yeah, that is basically what I have to work with. My 250 is always my go-to just because.

Btw, I need to get a lighter coil for my LS too.

Anything purchase related now though has to wait. Been saving $$$ for my truck. Too long of a story other than not running.

I want to drop the pan, pull the head, etc etc etc, but I don't have a garage and I live in an apt complex. So I need to "ninja" style work on my truck.

I definitely know my "heaters" are good for the silvers.

I did find "gold" during one of my dry sand hunts, but it ended being fake jewelry. But MAN BROTHA, my heater was giving off a SOLID "nickel" tone for sure.

Do you have any of these places nearby?

    http://www.theheads.biz/do-it-yourself.html

Or Google “rental garage for car repair” for others.

I took it to a well respected shop and I was even recommended to them. I was told and knew they were expensive, but went and did a head job due to a exhaust valve leak... About 3x months later, the bottom end went out all of a sudden?

Anyways, that's the long of it.

The short of it, never going to that shop again and they, basically, refuse to figure out what went wrong so I finally had it towed back to my place. Again, the short/long of that story...
