I also have the ARB Twin and used a CH4x4 switch and have had no problems without a relay.

The ARB does have an internal relay, I used a separate relay when adding the CH4x4, call me paranoid, but I don’t want to risk a dash fire

so im in the same situation as you were. ive been told the twin has a build in relay so no relay is needed. im assuming you've already got this installed how was the install process?

wired up my ARB dual yesterday. i wired it to my Spod with the 4 wires that go to the switch. I sent the 6guage wires (redx2 and black/white with ground) to the battery. the black and purple were the neg and pos I put to the spod switch. it works great I am just curious on what are the yellow and green wire for? ive capped and stowed them for now

There's a wiring diagram in the install manual.

so just to confirm, you wired this using the isolation switch harness? rather than switch 1/2? the ARB instruction are garbage

I didn’t have any issues with the diagram or instructions. I have some electrical background so reading the wiring as a schematic made sense to me.

I’m glad I found this thread, I’m hoping to install my ARB single this weekend. But I need the OEM switch and switch panel for the cubby hole.

Is everyone’s CH4x4 switch, wired directly in with no relay still going strong?

So I bought a CH4X4 switch for my compressor. A question I have is that the isolation switch is my on/off switch for the compressor correct? Switch 1 will be the switch for the rear locker correct?

For the illumination wire, has anybody taken the BLUE/WHITE illumination wire on the ARB harness and spliced into an illumination wire off one of the factory switches?

If doing so this way, can we skip having to use a FUSE TAP into the fusebox for illumination?

I tried that and didn’t get the dim function to work right. When I had it tapped to the green it would dim in reverse. When I had it tapped to the ground it wouldn’t dim at all. I am using a CH4x4 switch and the add a fuse just seems to work.

    Hi there,

Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I'm assuming this diagram is still correct?

I'm installing the single, it sounds like the twin doesn't need a relay added. Do I need to run one with the single, and if so how does it change the wiring?

Thanks for the help, looks like I've got to get a couple fuse taps.

No there’s a relay with the single. The box plugs into your harness in the engine bay. Has a number 180905 and states 12V 40A on it
