    Good Morning All,

My wife's wish list for Mothers Day.

    https://www.lowes.com/pd/Masterbuilt-Digital-Electric-Smoker/5001374837

I've got one computer back on the 'net. Still having issues with my routers and getting everything configured. Time-consuming to sort all this out. Lightning seems to have scrambled my firewall box, and VLANS are down. I need to get my IT guy on site, May's wish list was tires and wheels, but that may need to wait until June.

Good morning. Was 36 here at 6am. warming up quick today. Breakfast tis done then off to my cousins at 10 AM to help my son install a ceiling fan and two ceiling lights. Going to be a good day.

Bought hearing aids yesterday. I have an appointment set up on May 7th to take delivery. I wore a set yesterday and I am satisfied with the performance. My profile is already built for both hearing aids so the appointment should only take an hour.

    Link to hearing aid:
Kirkland Signature™ Hearing Aid | Costco

Link to Manufacture's hearing aid that that Costco sells:
    Phonak Audéo™ Paradise hearing aid

The HA paired with my phone and I could answer a call with a double tap to the right ear.

    Morning all:
Another project, need to cut up another oak that came down in the yard! :annoyed:

Was reading some posts about shotguns on another site and back bored barrels were mentioned, ????????, I had never heard of that. Seems like the barrels that are back bored produce a faster velocity and better patterns at longer range, Mossberg and some others have those barrels on from the factory, the Remington 870 I use for turkey hunting apparently doesn't from what I've read. Often wondered why quite a few guys like the Mossberg 835's for turkeys, I may just have found the answer.

I guess I could wait until Father's Day. I want that a Masterbilt too, but have to get rid of that vertical first!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch! Beautiful here this morning. Everyone slept in. My little book is almost out of assignments - going to have to start new ones. Going to transfer some seedlings, cut up some boxes, and probably start installing some new blinds in the sunroom. Oh, the first transplants went in the aquaponics on Thursday AM.

    I've had the Phonak

I've had the Phonak Paradise 70s for a couple of months now and I really like them. I've had two previous sets of hearing aids over the past 10 years but these really stand out. The double ear tap takes some getting used to but is pretty cool. As an iphone user, I can open SIRI with an ear tap too. The problem is that I wear reading glasses and, frequently, when I put my glasses on, Siri asks what I want. It can be annoying. At any rate, I think you'll like the Phonaks.

I'm paranoid about wearing my in-ear hearing aids while working in the woods. Yesterday a low hanging branch brushed my left ear, and could have snagged the removal dongle, if I was wearing them. No chance of finding it in the undergrowth. I'd still be looking. At least I was using my head for once.

I do catch mine in my glasses from time to time, but unless that branch is trying to take your ear off, you should be good!

Back boring basically increases the bore diameter. It does increase velocity but not that much. In theory it can improve pattern but the pattern is primarily affected by the choke. If you have a shotgun back bored you will have to experiment with chokes to get the best pattern. My personal opinion is if you are a good shot back boring won’t make you better
and if you aren’t the greatest shot back boring will also not improve your shooting.
I’ve owned dozens of shotguns but never a back bored Gun. I’ve shot back bored guns shooting sporting clays. No difference in my scores.
There are many variables involved in accurate shooting (and patterning). Some people are just naturally great shots. But I think one of the most important and most overlooked is “shotgun fit”. Most shot gunners buy a shotgun and never pay any attention to fit. Correct shotgun fit can make an average shooter a good or great shooter. When I buy a new shotgun i take it directly to a guy who is master shotgun fitter.

I have the phonak paradise as well Bill and have the same issue with the reading glasses. I go on to see the doctor on the 12th of May and I'll ask her about it (if I can remember...lol). But otherwise I love the aids and they are so comfortable some nights I forget to take them out. Glad everyone on here that has phonak enjoy them.

    Afternoon all:
The tree is gone, I think I need to start cutting them up into smaller pieces though!

Thanks for the input Ken, my go to scatter gun for grouse was a 16ga. Ithaca mod. 37 with a modified choke, I learned to snap shoot and shot quite a few grouse on the fly with that old relic! I think I mentioned it before, I have a Rem. 870 super mag. with a red dot on it that I use for turkeys, patterned @ 40yds. with Winchester long beard XR. It patterns well at that range, but I've never been impressed with that gun, think my OU Kassnar with 3" mags. is just as effective and I didn't gain much, if anything, by going to the 3 1/2" Magnum. :notsure:
Maybe I need to borrow my buddies 10 Ga. !
