Tps 4 pin connector conversion to 3 pin Tps and new Throttle body (ADAPTER TPS)

    I have a question, 95-5 3.4 MT reg cab 4 pin connector for the tps (89452-22080) oem and new throttle body with 3 pin connector TPS (89452-35020) some way to convert or adapt that 4 pin connector to 3 pin tps? or some other solution

    Please help, maybe there is a solution and I'm not seeing

    Throttle body for 95-5 is discontinued

    so the only option was a new throttle body (22210-62250) with tps 3 pin connector

    The 1996 repair manual shows a 4 pin TPS for both the 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engines.

    What's the part number for the throttle body you need that's discontinued?

    And what year/engine is the throttle body you got for?

    Where does that 4th wire go??

    I wish I had the EWD for the95.5 and the one the new throttle body is for.

    It might be like any swap change the ECM and other sensors to the year of the new throttle body .

    Without being able to see the schematics.

    What's the part number for the throttle body you need that's discontinued?
    22210-62190 throttle body 3.4 4x4 MT 1995-5 / 09/1996 4 pin connector


    And what year/engine is the throttle body you got for?
    I buy this new throttle body and new tps 4 pin connector
    22210-62250 throttle body 3.4 4x4 MT 09/1996-08/1999 and is for tps 3 pin connector

    Reading that post, it actually looks like I made a mistake in the information I provided.

    I have since updated it to correct the 1995-1996 V6 information.

    I looked briefly before to see if there was a Toyota 4-wire TPS that would be compatible with the newer V6 non-ETCS throttle body, but haven't found one yet.

    Question for you though, have you compared the plate under the TPS between the two throttle bodies? It may be possible to swap the plate and then use the original 4-wire TPS on the newer throttle body.

    To the other questions that have been asked, the early 4-wire sensors use a single pot and idle switch. The 3-wire sensors use a single pot and no idle switch, the later 4-wire sensors use two pots and no idle switch.

    you say to modify the inside of the new throttle body where the tps 3 connectors sit and place the tps with 4 connectors
    did I understand well? that is proven to work? I do not want to break the new throttle
    but if there is no other left I will have to do it

    I had thought of modifying the wire connector with 4 pins tps to convert into 3 pins cable connector but I don't know if it would work

    Just remove the 2 screws holding the TPS onto the throttle body, and take a look at what's under there. I haven't done it on a 5VZ myself, but I have for other Toyotas.

    That wouldn't work, at least not completely. The ECU is expecting the IDL signal.

    The 4 wire has the idle switch in it. Which you will need for your truck. 3 wire won't work in place of it electrically. Only option is to make 4 wire work on throttle body or get a different throttle body.

    the truck remains accelerated and varies the revolutions intermittently between 1500rpm and 2000rpms

    we have advances, I am manufacturing an adapter for the tps 4 pin connector (89452-22080) to swap in the new throttle body (22210-62250)
    hopefully we will have results next week if everything goes well and works

    it would look something like this, I found several adapters all over the world and mostly for the Supra but there are no options for the tacoma body throttle and 5vz motor
    then it's time to invent one :popcorn:

    Just look down the throttle body and see if there’s any air gap in between the walls and the butterfly.
    It should be tight,
    The walls should be perfectly smooth where the butterfly meets the wall.

    If there’s any gap or grove on the wall where the butterfly meets the wall, air will slip by and your rpms will be higher.
    Max bore for 125.00 is the best deal and is put in an ultrasound cleaning machine too.
    He will bore out the inside to make the walls perfectly round, new butterfly etc.
