This is my favorite thread on TW by a huge margin. You all have such cute dogs.
Makes me even more impatient for the day I live somewhere dog friendly. :bananadead:

I dont use harnesses but I'd be inclined to try a leather or carhartt or Duluth trading

My wife says the same thing. No more once this last one is gone. Our male Schnauzer had S.A.R.D.S. and had to be put down with complications. Now our female has diabetes and has to get shots twice a day($150/month). They never had people food and were registered. Pure breads are a lot more work. You can get a mutt and that thing will live twice as long and only 10% of the health problems.

I got her fresh out of high school 23 years ago and she was sweet as could be to everyone she met except a select few. It took me a bit longer but turned out she knew what she was talking about.

My dad does this and I didn’t like it at first but it works, please don’t crucify me. After hooked in the D ring instead of going straight back drop the leash around the bottom of the neck. It shows consequences and you don’t have to jerk on the leash.

Ruff wear makes a pretty good one. Well made product and it held up great for our pup. Made for the outdoors. Easy to put on as well. We used the front range harness but there are a handful more options they carry:thumbsup:

You can also try a harness that has the option to hook onto under the chin at the chest. Pulling when connected at that point pulls your dog down and is not comfortable so they pull less. On top they can feel like they are a sled dog and pull to their hearts content and it probably feels productive to them.

Reddy harnesses @ Petco are pretty sweet. My dog has had it for several years and still in great shape. Julius and Ray Allen also make top quality harnesses designed for working dogs, but those can be a bit pricey.
